Claims Expert, Professional Liability Claims

If so, this role may be for you!  We are looking for a strategic thinker with leadership skills to join our US Lawyers, Miscellaneous Professional Liability, and Product Recall Claims team.

 

About the Role 

 

Employing excellent adjudication skills, you will independently handle professional liability claims from first notice to resolution while also working closely with the other members of our claims team, as well as our underwriting and products team. We are seeking someone that is comfortable with technology and innovatively thinking of ways to streamline tasks to increase efficiency.

 

You will work with colleagues across international regions, providing advice and insight into US trends and exposures. You also will work with business partners to market our products and services through industry events and client meetings.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Confidently navigate in both primary and excess insurance claim environments while actively managing Lawyers Professional Liability claims, as well as other Professional Liability claims, including US Insurance Agents claims, with responsibility for beginning-to-end claims handling
  • Collaborate with internal operations, customers, and brokers to achieve the most advantageous and effective claim resolution while maintaining accurate data
  • Actively engage with Client Markets and support marketing efforts by meeting with current and prospective clients
  • Identify and analyze claim trends and provide high level analysis of claims portfolio results to the business
  • Review, support, and assist in developing policy wordings and tailored solutions for clients
  • Liaise with Actuarial, Finance, and Risk Management colleagues to share information in the management of claims, clients, and risks
  • Represent and promote Swiss Re Corporate Solutions at industry conferences, client events, and professional society functions.

About You

 

You are a self-starter requiring minimal direct supervision with strong analytical, negotiation, and influencing skills. Your excellent verbal and written skills compliment your exceptional interpersonal skills.

 

In addition:

 

  • A university degree or equivalent is required.
  • A law degree is not required, but is highly desirable.
  • 7 years of experience handling Lawyers, Insurance Agents, or other Professional Liability claims.
  • Possess, or be willing to acquire, adjuster licenses as needed for various jurisdictions.

 

Required travel: Estimated 5-10%

 

Our company uses a hybrid work model requiring at least three days in the office each week, with the option to work onsite full-time if preferred.  This position is not eligible for full-time telework.

 

 

The estimated base salary range for this position is $116,000 to $194,000.  The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.  At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
