About the Role

 

This is a senior level Claims position, based in Copenhagen (Denmark), responsible for the professional handling of a varied portfolio of Property and Engineering & Construction claims primarily on the Danish, Swedish and Norwegian markets, as lead or co-insurer, requiring technical coverage evaluation and exposure analysis, where the objective is proactive investigation and evaluation, fair resolution, and the delivery of exceptional customer service.

 

The position reports into the Head of Claims for Benelux and Nordics.

 

About the Team

 

You will be part of a passionate team in which claims is considered an integral part of the sales force. The Danish team has been growing rapidly and has a customer base that is growing fast as well, solidifying SRCS' position as a global player in the primary insurance market. The Danish team is part of the larger Benelux and Nordics team that works closely together in achieving the desired growth and in doing so benefits from the vast combined experience of all the team members.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the highest quality claim handling and customer service consistent with the SRCS Claim Commitment and Claim Handling Guidelines.
  • Handle claims of varying severity within defined authority including, coverage review, fact investigation, loss evaluation, and designing and completing an appropriate claim resolution strategy. Set and maintain appropriate and timely indemnity and expense reserves.
  • Select, direct, and lead external experts and vendors, including working with experts to set appropriate budgets and effectively run costs.
  • Select and handle outside attorneys, where needed, including working with attorneys to set appropriate resolution strategy and budget and proactively manage costs.
  • Regularly and actively engage with our customers for claims meetings, loss scenario workshops and claim evaluations
  • Assist Underwriting and others with contractual wording and risk assessments.
  • Keep Claim Management and Internal Stakeholders aware of loss potential and material claim developments, consistent with the Claims Handling Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Regular Claims and Insurance Industry training/education, including obtaining applicable insurance certifications/designations and licensure.
  • Participate in regional and global projects.

About You

 

The ideal candidate is ambitious, curious, energetic and can bring their know-how onboard and build the Nordic business.

 

  • Educated to degree level
  • 5 + years Claims or Insurance Industry experience
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and a desire to help grow the Nordics book of business
  • Organizational and time management skills, focused, agile, self-motivated and good judgment
  • Solid coverage, investigation, loss evaluation and claim valuation skills
  • Solid negotiation skills with a desire to continue development of these skills.
  • Solid litigation and outside attorney management skills
  • Fluent in English and Danish. Another Nordic language is an advantage.

For Denmark, the base salary range for this position is between DKK 675,000 and DKK 1,125,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

 

• The requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,

• The applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

 

In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range.

 

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based annual bonus.
