Position objectives and position summary


General Accountability:


The Corporate Solutions Luxembourg Reporting Team is responsible for legal entity reporting according to Luxembourg GAAP, USGAAP and Solvency II valuation principles for Swiss Re International SE. In addition, the UK branch is required to produce UK GAAP reporting also. As a member of our team, you are responsible for UK branch reporting for tax and also to the Branch Manager and Solvency II reporting to the UK Regulator.


You are responsible for the preparation and reporting for the quarterly Solvency II quantitative and narrative reporting to the UK insurance regulator, along with internal reporting to Senior Management and members of the Branch Committee. You provide comprehensive financial analysis and business commentaries with respect to the accounting policy, reporting and monitoring activities according to management requirements.


Furthermore, you ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements.

•   Finance Corporate Solutions

•   The UK Branch Management Committee (BMC)

•   Risk Management

•   PRA (regulatory authority)


Main tasks/activities


1.  Prepares the quarterly and annual finance packs for the BMC, quarterly and annual regulatory returns in accordance with the generally accepted accounting policies and relevant regulation in UK for our UK branch.

2.  Support the implementation of the new reporting structure as the UK exits the EU and formerly becomes supervised by the UK regulator

3.  Ability to challenge, develop & enhance existing financial reporting processes

4.  Ensures consistent and compliant reporting according to UK statutory, US GAAP, as well as Solvency II principles

5.  Promotes regulatory requirements adequately in any Finance or Group wide initiatives which impacts Solvency II reporting

6.  Supports enhancements to both systems and processes to meet regulatory requirements involving Finance division and the associated IT department

7.  Provides input and support to Finance relevant projects including a move to IFRS

8.  Supports the reconciliation process between statutory and group accounting principles

9.  Provides comprehensive financial analysis and business commentaries with respect to the accounting policy, reporting, monitoring and reconciliation activities according to management requirements

10. Ensures compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements

11. Supports audit activities where required and prepares requested information in connection with internal and external audits as well as other external parties such as regulatory or other governmental institutions

12. Performs ad hoc tasks as required


Job requirements


1.  University degree in Economics, Science or Business Administration

2.  Seven years or more of work experience in insurance / reinsurance related finance accounting functions

3.  Solvency II knowledge an advantage

4.  Insurance operational and accounting knowledge beneficial

5.  Strong track record in reporting, preferably to external agencies

6.  Excellent analytical skills and holistic approach

7.  Experience in  UK GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS desirable

8.  Team player with clear communication skills

9.  Engaging and motivating

10. Excellent command of the English language
