Are you a driven, detail-oriented professional who thrives at the intersection of client relationships, strategy, and cross-functional collaboration? Do you want to build a meaningful career in the dynamic world of Life & Health reinsurance? If so, Swiss Re has an exciting opportunity for you to grow, contribute, and make a real impact.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity within Swiss Re's US Life & Health Reinsurance division, sitting at the heart of our Client Management organization. As an Assistant Vice President, Client Account Specialist, you will be a vital partner to Client Managers — supporting the ownership of key client relationships, driving sales execution, and enabling the team to deliver exceptional value to our clients. This role offers rich exposure to client strategy, cross-functional teamwork, and the broader reinsurance landscape, making it an ideal accelerator for a career in financial services and reinsurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Client Managers in leading cross-functional client teams — coordinating meetings, managing communications, tracking action items, and bringing relevant profitability, operational, and sales analytics to Client Leadership Team (CLT) discussions
- Drive the sales funnel in coordination with Client Managers, including tracking opportunities and supporting timely follow-up and execution to help achieve business targets
- Develop and execute Client Engagement and Action Plans, and prepare high-quality, impactful marketing and client materials in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Prepare internal and external communications for clients, internal stakeholders, and executive management; share knowledge and best practices across client teams, markets, and functional units
- Coordinate ad hoc client, industry, and market unit requests, including briefing documents for key industry meetings and senior management engagements
- Serve as co-pilot for select high-activity clients — running point on client projects, entering leads and opportunities in CRM tools, preparing RFP proposals including value-added services packages, and leading CLT meetings
- Participate in Swiss Re's Rep pool for unassigned clients and prospects — researching assigned companies, prospecting for opportunities, and contributing to new business growth
- Support key Swiss Re client events, including planning, coordination, preparation, and on-the-ground execution
- Represent the Client Management perspective on user-testing projects, ensuring client-facing considerations are appropriately reflected in product and process development
- Occasional travel, approximately 1-2 times per year, for client meetings or industry events
About the Team
The US Life & Health Market Unit is a dynamic and client-focused team within Swiss Re's broader Life & Health Reinsurance division. The team is responsible for managing and growing Swiss Re's reinsurance relationships with life and health insurance clients across the United States — delivering innovative solutions, strategic insights, and trusted partnership. Working at the intersection of client strategy, sales execution, and cross-functional collaboration, the team plays a pivotal role in driving Swiss Re's business success and reinforcing its position as a leading reinsurer in the US market.
About You
You are a proactive, highly organized professional who knows how to turn broad direction into action. You are comfortable supporting senior stakeholders and client-facing teams, managing multiple priorities at once, and taking ownership of deliverables from start to finish.
You are equally comfortable seeing the big picture and getting into the details. Whether you are preparing an executive presentation, coordinating input from multiple stakeholders, researching information for a client briefing, or responding to an unexpected request, you know how to determine what needs to happen and drive the work forward.
You communicate clearly and professionally, exercise sound judgment, and know how to work effectively with different personalities and competing priorities. You are persistent without losing the collaborative approach needed to build strong relationships.
Most importantly, you are a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity. You do not need every assignment to come with detailed instructions. You ask the right questions, identify what you need, involve the right people, and take ownership of delivering a high-quality result. You are willing to step in and support a team member when workoads become unbalanced.
What you'll bring:
- A four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
- Approximately 3–5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally supporting client-facing, sales, account management or business-development activities.
- Demonstrated experience working across teams and functions within a complex, matrixed organization.
- Strong PowerPoint skills, including the ability to create polished executive and client-facing presentations and translate information into a clear story.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at different levels.
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and contributors simultaneously.
- A track record of taking ownership, following through and moving work forward when assignments are not fully defined.
- Strong interpersonal judgment and the ability to build productive relationships across different personalities and working styles.
Strongly preferred
- Experience in insurance, reinsurance or broader financial services.
- Experience supporting sales, client/account management, proposals or RFP activity.
- Experience with Excel, Power BI, CRM/workflow platforms or similar business tools.
- Experience using AI tools thoughtfully to research, synthesize information, improve efficiency or enhance work products.
- Experience working across geographically dispersed or global teams.
Our company operates under a hybrid work model, with the expectation that employees will work from the office three days per week every week.
