Insurance Insights Operations Analyst - L&H

Our company operates under a hybrid work model, with the expectation that employees work from the office three days per week. Please note that this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship/visa transfers/visa extension or relocation support.

 

 

About the Role 

As an Insurance Operations Insights Specialist, you will join the Operations Insights team within Life & Health Reinsurance Operations. This role focuses on supporting closed blocks of life and health insurance business that are administered through a combination of internal systems and third-party administrators (TPAs). Internally at Swiss Re, this area of work is commonly referred to as Admin Re. 

 

The role is intentionally structured to begin with hands on shadowing and supported learning, working closely with experienced operational and governance partners. Over time, responsibility and scope will expand as you build familiarity with products, workflows, controls, and Cross functional dependencies. 

 

You will support a range of operational, compliance, financial, and governance activities, while contributing to operational continuity, documentation quality, and risk awareness across this portfolio. Prior Admin Re-experience is not required; however, the role is well suited to someone with a foundational understanding of insurance or reinsurance operations who is eager to deepen expertise and broaden exposure. 

 

This role is well suited to internal Swiss Re candidates seeking broader operational exposure, as well as external candidates with relevant industry experience. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Core Operations Support – Administered Insurance Portfolios 

  • Shadow and support operational workflows related to administered life and health insurance portfolios, with a focus on complaints handling, compliance, and regulatory support activities 
  • Assist with intake, tracking, documentation, and follow-up of operational items and inquiries 
  • Help maintain clear, consistent, and audit ready documentation in line with governance and control standards 
  • Support day-to-day coordination across Operations, Compliance, Finance, IT, and external partners 

 

2. Financial & Invoice Support (Backup Coverage) 

  • Support review of Third Party Administrator (TPA) invoices and supporting documentation 
  • Help prepare invoice approval packages and coordinate review with Finance 
  • Track invoices and support fee analysis and summary reporting by TPA and business block 
  • Provide documentation support for audits, desk reviews, and financial oversight activities 

 

3. Governance, Controls & Documentation Support (Backup Coverage) 

  • Assist with oversight of TPA operational control frameworks, service delivery models, and documentation 
  • Support coordination and follow-up related to audits, control attestations, SOC reports, and compliance reviews 
  • Help maintain and continuously improve end-to-end process documentation, workflows, and ownership maps 
  • Utilize tools such as SharePoint and Power Apps to support access certifications and control evidence 
  • Act as a coordination point across Operations, Finance, QA, IT, Compliance, and external vendors, helping ensure clarity of ownership and timely execution 

 

 

About the Team: 

The L&H Operations Insights team, part of L&H Operations, plays a critical role in driving agility and client-centric solutions. The team manages financial monitoring, ensures key financial controls are met, and performs quality assurance to mitigate and control risks. It monitors the performance of key portfolios and oversees complex data processing to deliver actionable business insights in response to growing market demands and the expanding L&H in-force book. Responsibilities include providing insights and reporting for risk management, tracking operational signals for the Portfolio Health Dashboard (Smart Circle), and delivering KPI inputs for operational and business review meetings with senior management and Market Units. 

 

About You:

  • At least 2 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance, or financial services within insurance operations 
  • Working familiarity with insurance products, policy administration, reinsurance processes, or operational workflows 
  • Experience operating in regulated, controlled, or audit supported environments
  • Familiarity with documentation and collaboration tools such as SharePoint, Excel, and workflow platforms
  • Exposure to third party vendor oversight (within Insurance) or operational governance frameworks is a plus

The estimated base salary range for this position for both, Fort Wayne, IN and Dallas, TX is $80,000 to $120,000.  The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.  At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions.
