About the Role
As a Technical Accounting - Analyst I, you'll be at the heart of our reinsurance operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all administrative processes. You'll utilize advanced data analysis tools and Swiss Re's proprietary systems to maintain data integrity, manage financial transactions, and deliver exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and verify financial data - Book client premiums and policy level data for regulatory & financial reporting purposes, ensuring the quality of financial & policy data processed in Swiss Re's systems for use by all stakeholders
- Meet critical deadlines - Work within tight deadlines to meet cash close dates along with recency and key performance indicator targets
- Problem-solve and communicate - Escalate & communicate timely material financial and policy variances or deviations, working closely with clients to analyze and resolve issues
- Maintain data integrity - Create & maintain policy information and assure treaty compliance on records and reports
- Build client relationships - Maintain strong relationships with external clients through professional communication and reliable service

About You
You're an ambitious team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills who pays close attention to detail. As a self-starter, you take a proactive approach to challenges and can adapt quickly to changing circumstances. You're motivated by innovation and continuously seek new solutions and improved ways of working.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- 1-3 years' experience in Insurance, Accounting or Finance environment or a Bachelor's degree
- Proven analytical skills / Intermediate to strong knowledge in Excel, such as being able to create pivot tables & do basic formulas (ex. VLOOKUP)
- Possess strong computer skills with the ability to adapt quickly to various applications and systems
- Ability to work independently after initial training period
- Proven organizational & time management skills; able to handle multiple priorities within tight deadlines
These are additional nice to haves:
- Experience with Power Query / Power BI
- Demonstrates understanding of financial reporting requirements
- Proven decision-making skills with ability to exercise good business judgment
- LOMA / ARA designations in progress
The estimated base salary range for this position is $56,000 to $84,000. The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
Our company operates under a hybrid work model, with the expectation that employees work from the office three days per week. Please note that this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship/transfer or relocation support.
