Reinsurance Analyst Associate

 

About the Role

Do you enjoy figuring out how things are connected? Does reviewing substantial amounts of data to ensure internal systems are accurately mapped to the correct insurance treaty bring you satisfaction? If so, then Swiss Re's Reinsurance team is looking for you to fill the role of Reinsurance Analyst Associate!

 

This role involves a great deal of attention to detail, ability to read, understand, interpret, and build a crosswalk of the Paper Treaty to the seriatim data. Requires excellent analysis skills to identify and discuss data quality discrepancies and is able to take necessary actions needed to help improve the quality.

 

This position is responsible for the accurate and timely work of Data Analysis and mapping of business electronically reported by clients to Swiss Re’s internal systems.  You will also be responsible for validating and performing premium validations that are outlined in the Paper Treaty.

 

Incumbent will have some contact with clients and extensive contacts with Stakeholders to assist in mapping client data accounts. Must have the skills to work very closely with stakeholders to discuss key attributes that are outlined in the paper treaty and reported within the data.  

About the Team

The team is responsible for extracting external seriatim data, analyzing, transforming, and visualizing the data with the goal of developing a data crosswalk to Swiss Re translations that align with the paper treaty. Learning and developing a solid understanding of the data needs of our business and the customers business.  Being innovative with the mapping of the client's data while optimizing and improving productivity through process automation. We are also called in to perform preliminary diagnosis on client data changes to be able to provide recommendations on next steps.

 

As a member of the team, you will learn differing levels of skillsets for other roles within the Data Management Team to help reduce single dependencies. 

 

Individuals in this role will have the opportunity to attend New Deal Meetings which develops a good understanding of new business and allows for Treaty Support assistance which aids in driving the improvement of our Treaty Quality prior to requests being submitted.

 

Ideal incumbents will have knowledge of Swiss Re's key insurance business, products and services and be eager to develop skills to make their presence noticeable via attendance at networking events, sharing their knowledge, gaining expertise and not being afraid to ask or follow up with key connections.

About You

We are seeking individuals with a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in an Accounting/Finance related subject area ideally with a minimum of five years related experience in a reinsurance/insurance environment.

 

Advanced analytical skills, agile thinkers, creative problem solvers with effective written and oral communication skills who have solid understanding of computer fundamentals and Microsoft Office with strong Excel (Formulas, pivot tables, lookups, etc.) skills will excel in this role.

The position will be located in our Fort Wayne, IN office. Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office two to three days per week on average.
