About your Team

We pursue the goal of results- oriented Underwriting and are seeking to hire a dynamic individual who has significant experience and a proven track-record in the origination, structuring and underwriting of Credit & Surety solutions. About your Role

 

Based in Frankfurt, your role is a mix of underwriting as well as client and broker interaction – two highly fast paced areas that require a very flexible approach. Main tasks/activities are:

 

  • Underwriting for new and existing clients in a senior portfolio in accordance with internal guidelines while keeping the focus on satisfying the client needs
  • Acquire and independently manage client and broker relationships as well as originate new business opportunities and process attractive transactions in Germany and Austria
  • Analyze and assess the underlying counterparty and/or transaction in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and provide thorough underwriting decisions and recommendations
  • Monitor existing transactions ensuring diligent underwriting, exposure and risk management as well as mitigation measures if required
  • Develop account strategies to adapt position on existing accounts and expand our footprint in the market
  • Establish and maintain knowledge of German surety market in respects of wording, coverages and regulation as well as brokers and competitors
  • Mentoring and advising younger professionals or Junior Underwriters as the need arises
  • Represent Swiss Re in meetings with clients, brokers and other Swiss Re Group branches

 

About You

 

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience, preferably in a bank, surety insurer or-reinsurer
  • Experience in dealing with multinational corporations and providing credit, guarantee and/or surety solutions to large and mid-sized corporate costumers
  • Mature and self-confident personality with strong negotiation skills on terms and conditions
  • Excellent understanding of financial markets including debt financing, capital market instruments, and industry knowledge
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with strong dedication to meeting immediate objectives and achieving long-term goals
  • Curiosity and open-mindedness, agile and capable of developing and presenting bespoke solutions meeting complex client needs.
  • Demonstrated ability on working team-orientated, efficiently and adhere to strict deadlines
  • Ability to coach and mentor less experienced Underwriters
  • Regular business travels required for client and broker meetings
  • German native speaker with good English skills (written and spoken)
  • University graduate or equivalent education.
