External Communications Manager APAC

About the Role


In this role you will serve as External Communications Manager for Swiss Re's L&H business in Asia Pacific . You will provide marcomms support to the business to enhance Swiss Re's position and thought leadership in the region.


To this end, you will support the Lead External Communications in developing and implementing external communications campaigns/activities and ensure there is consistent and impactful messaging, in alignment with the Global/APAC business campaigns/priorities. To achieve this, you will work closely with the extended Communications APAC team (including content/media relations) and the Global Account Lead. 
 
Key Accountabilities:
• Serves as communications advisor to select stakeholders across L&H business to strengthen Swiss Re's brand and thought leadership presence
• Support the implementation of external communications campaigns as set by Group Communications, in accordance with APAC business needs, using owned and earned channels

• Work with the PR agency and third-party vendor relationships
• Support external client communication: produce and edit content/articles to support marketing units in their client outreach efforts
• Leverage thought leadership pieces, craft APAC relevant stories and content, leveraging the most effective channel mix (online, social media, video, infographics, brochure, newsletter, traditional and digital media, WeChat/LinkedIn/Twitter)
• Support the development and implementation of appropriate KPIs to measures the success of external and internal communication activities for the business in Asia and reports on results
• Work closely with the content and media relations team to position Swiss Re and increase our SOV on key topics
• Align with the employee communications team where relevance to a campaign
• Plan and execute external events per the regional marcomms plan
• Manages budget for communication projects and reports on results
• Measures success based on KPIs

About You

• A University degree or equivalent in Communications, Marketing or Business Administration
• 5-7  years of professional-level experience
• Exposure to Asia regional / global integrated communication campaigns, with well-rounded skills and a track record of delivering strong results through traditional and digital channels
• Experience running and developing digital marketing strategies and practices 
• Practice in re/insurance or in other B-to-B
• Strong strategic, analytical and planning capabilities
• Hands-on experience in delivering creative, efficient and effective marketing initiatives
• Outstanding story-telling and writing skills
• The ability to manage projects on time and on budget
• Comfortable getting involved in a range of communications tasks from strategy through to delivery
• Proven skills in deploying social and digital media and reporting based on KPIs
• Sound business judgement
• A healthy level of attention to detail
• Stamina and persistence to pursue new ideas
