About the Job

 

The Originator's primary role is to implement sales strategy and generate new profitable business as well as maintain and develop the existing portfolio through cross- and up-selling. To achieve this goal he/she will establish and consolidate a working network of relationships within Hong Kong; Taiwan; Macau market; generate business intelligence to identify new business opportunities and client needs; 
The role focuses his/her efforts primarily on developing and selling profitable new and existing business opportunities across all CorSo product lines to major brokers, to provide the company with long term sustainable growth and profit.
Additionally, the Originator works closely with the line underwriting teams (property, casualty and specialty lines) and actively helps establish working relationships between line underwriters and placement brokers for the region. Furthermore, the role works closely with IRS team of highly specialized products and strategic solutions.
The Originator is measured against a set of financial and non-financial KPIs related to business origination.


• To ensure that CorSo strategies & business plans are communicated internally and externally, pro-actively implemented, updated per responsible areas
• Develops strong relationships with client representatives and senior management teams of broking houses. Organizing strategic meeting with broker partners and ensuring full value proposition of CorSo is known and understood. 
• To take a holistic view in relation to responsible areas by ensuring CorSo product proposition is provided that considers all business opportunities, including new &  renewal, primary & Fac in business. To raise, maintain and enhance the leading profile of CorSo.
• Represents full range of Corporate Solutions products and solutions (property, casualty, professional lines, special line and IRS )
• Develop relationships with and seek business flow from retail brokers in coordination with underwriters and other broker initiatives
• Develops concrete business targets/pipelines (accounts); managing the performance for sliver accounts through co-work with Uwers and do cross- and up-selling
• Develop sales strategy and action plan in collaboration with Head of Sales Greater China, the line underwriting teams and the IRS teams of highly specialized products and strategic solutions
• Organise broker and client events in accordance with the marketing plan(in collaboration with the marketing communications team)
• Work out marketing material in coordination with Marketing Department
• Support the quotes preparation process, structure programs and work out offer proposals for corporate risks and facilities in cooperation with the underwriting team
• Contribute to other project work and accept special assignment


About You


• University degree or equivalent with a strong business component preferred
• Minimum of 10 years experience in insurance company or broking firms on commercial insurance, minimum of 3 years experience in insurance company or broking firms in Greater China
• Persistent and skilled in following up and following through to achieve targets and/or complete initiatives successfully and timely
• Track record in sales and new business origination
• Track record of supporting complex client and intermediaries
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset and focus on execution 
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Excellent team player including ability to work well with teams in multiple locations and business units.
• Excellent understanding of industrial insurance market for the region, including key competitors, distribution channels, market trends and dynamics
• Fluency in English and Chinese (written and oral) is required; Cantonese would be an advantage
• Availability for traveling regularly
