About the role

 

As Product Manager, you will have a unique and exciting opportunity to join us: a diverse and motivated team, committed to delivering value and innovative services together with our clients and partners in the primary insurance space.

 

You will be a member of the Insurance & Propositions Department and will be responsible for the development of easy-to-understand and innovative insurance products suitable for digitalization for our focus markets Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. You will work closely in cross functional teams evaluating key consumer needs to build a great customer experience using state-of-the-art technology solutions. While enabling attractive sales journeys, you will ensure robust underwriting, and work together with the claims team to ensure end-to-end automation capabilities. You will report to the Head Product Management.

 

Your responsibilities include:

 

  • Perform actuarial pricing activity (GLM analysis and new methods) while ensuring that products are priced in a consistent, timely and accurate manner
  • Generates pricing metrics for profitability management and benchmark analytics as well as close collaboration with reserving department
  • Continuously improve the selection and pricing of risks through the use of leading-edge pricing tools and models incl. predictive analytics
  • Ensure the pricing function is applying generally accepted actuarial principles and is complying with all regulatory and risk management practices
  • Develop innovative and easy to understand P&C products starting from our customers' perspective and in close collaboration with claims
  • Create very modular tariffs enabling high flexibility on coverage and object bundles while keeping adverse selection risks under tight control
  • Work closely with UX designers to create new consumer propositions focusing on simplifying insurance products and on increasing transparency
  • Monitor market developments, evaluate upcoming consumer needs and perform competitor benchmarking to ensure adequate positioning of our products
  • Be responsible for your own market and manage your product portfolio through continuous testing of different bundles, tariffs and sales journeys
  • Closely monitor your product and customer composition, gather relevant data and run analytics to continuously gain new insights and adjust our product offering
  • Participate in sales pitches and ideation workshops as part of a cross-functional team to onboard new distribution partners in your market

About you

 

  • Fully qualified actuary with 5+ years of experience in insurance pricing (experience with key software such as Earnix, Emblem is an advantage) in Continental Europe
  • Expertise in statistical modelling and data analytics (Proficiencey in modeling languages such as R, Python or similar) and comfortable learning and working with new software
  • Creative and have many ideas how to improve the current market practices and enhancing the customer experience through simplified and transparent products
  • Hands-on and independent working style embracing cross-functional teams and partnering with distribution partners from different industries and backgrounds
  • Technology minded with a clear view on how technology can be used for customer friendly underwriting and more attractive insurance products
  • Entrepreneurial and able to demonstrate commercial acumen when partnering with distributors and driving product innovation
  • Clear and effective communication with internal and external business leaders within g and English; fluency in other EU languages is an advantage
  • Fluency in Dutch and English; fluency in other EU languages is an advantage
