Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Hybrid set up)

About the Role
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at IptiQ, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, stability, and scalability of our company’s cloud systems and infrastructure. You will shape the technology platform that fulfils our business and product vision, bringing value to our customers and partners by redefining the traditional insurance proposition. This role requires tackling complex challenges in a multi-tenant, distributed infrastructure by designing, implementing, and testing highly automated solutions to offer our end customers an amazing experience.
Key Responsibilities:

End-to-end engagement, from inception to production, in designing, deploying, operating, and continuously improving performance and fault-tolerance of high-availability services in multiple environments

Deliver high-quality code and solutions with a strong focus on automation, infrastructure as code, and security.

Collaborate closely with product engineering teams to operate production systems, monitoring service availability, latency, and performance. Take ownership of incident resolution impacting the production platform and lead detailed root cause investigations during postmortems, fostering a culture of seamless collaboration across teams.

Focus on delivering automated and self-healing systems, continuously engaging in workload planning, and exploring solutions to enhance platform efficiency by leveraging public cloud capabilities.

Contribute to the development, support, and maintenance of continuous delivery solutions by promoting a shift-left approach to code ownership and empowering external teams with self-service infrastructure capabilities.

Essentials

5+ years of significant hands-on experience with large-scale, customer-facing microservices architectures, implementing best practices around design, scalability, observability, and security, in high-traffic concurrent infrastructure across cloud-based technology stacks.

Deep expertise with the AWS cloud computing platform and Kubernetes orchestration platform, Configuration management (Terraform, Ansible), and implementation of CI/CD pipelines (Argo CD, Argo Suite, GitLab CI, Spinnaker).

A solid understanding of modern networking concepts, including cloud networking, Kubernetes networking, and end-to-end traffic management from CDN to backend services.

Strong experience with the Prometheus & Grafana observability stacks and related modern observability tools, applied to cloud native applications and infrastructure.

Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Go, Rust, or Java/Kotlin, with strong scripting capabilities.

A collaborative mindset: able to work effectively within a team, demonstrate technical leadership by advocating for ideas while remaining open to different perspectives, and contribute to the overall team growth.

Proficient in English (The job is English-speaking only).
Nice To Have

Experience managing various cloud-based datastore solutions (NoSQL/SQL).

Previous experience working in highly regulated environments.

AWS (Solutions Architect / Devops / Specialty), CNCF Certifications (Kubernetes, Istio, GitOps, Prometheus, Argo).

Experience working in an agile environment, utilizing methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or Test-Driven Development (TDD).

For Netherlands the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 100,000] and [EUR 150,000 ] per year (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
• the requirements, scope, complexity, and responsibilities of the role,
• the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.
In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
