Alibaba Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, who will be part of the Alibaba platform team. You will help develop new infrastructure capabilities and shared services on Alibaba Cloud and support application and project teams to adopt cloud technology.
Main responsibilities:
- You will be the key member of the cloud platform team that builds and operates the standardized cloud platform on Alibaba Public Cloud
- You will develop shared and secured infrastructure capabilities, application monitoring solutions, security monitoring and reporting solutions
- Adopt automation first approach to tackle all infrastructure patching and upgrades, access management, deployment, and release management processes
- Developing and maintain terraform modules for standardized infrastructure and services on Alibaba Cloud, ensure the infrastructure is up to date from security perspective considering new emerging security threat and vulnerabilities
- Define/refine and help implement the business continuity solution – backup, disaster recovery (DR) process and DR solution
- Ensure that the platform is fully compliant as per Swiss Re's cloud security and cloud governance framework
- Helping application and platform development teams with constructive feedback for defining, developing cutting platform capabilities using cloud native solutions and infrastructure automation using Azure DevOps, K8S, IaC, IAM, Cloud Security Controls etc.
- As necessary provide necessary support for internal and external audits
- When needed work on architectural and design proposal, validating and communicating it to wider Swiss Re architecture and management teams
- Aligning designs, definitions and configurations and the timelines defined for the delivery of platform capabilities with the strategic and tactical objectives
About the team
The Alibaba Cloud Platform team is part of the Swiss Re's Public Cloud Transformation organization that focuses on developing and managing a secure, compliant, and standardized cloud services and capabilities on Alibaba Cloud to support business units across Swiss Re. We'd like to welcome a team member who will be instrumental in building and enhancing the Alibaba Cloud Platform.
About you
We are happy to meet you if you possess:
- University degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or comparable education/experience)
- Several years of hands-on experience including leadership experience as Cloud Architect, infrastructure engineer, designing and implementation on Public Cloud
- Technical knowledge and deep understanding in Alibaba Public Cloud and Financial Cloud; Identity and Access Management; Networking, Network Security Groups; Load Balancing; IaaS Compute Services and High Availability solutions; Hybrid Cloud Setup; Public Cloud Security, Cloud governance for enterprises
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code with terraform or ARM Templates, PowerShell and DevOps; Sophisticated CI/CD tools; Cloud Security Monitoring; Log Analytics; Data Analytics Services on Cloud
- Experienced communicator both written & verbal and strong stakeholder management skills and able to influence in servant leadership style
- Strong analytical & conceptual skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language; and any other language is a plus.
- Ability to motivate others and readiness for close collaboration across multiple locations.
