Azure Cloud Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

About the Team

The Azure Cloud Platform is a unit within the Public Cloud Transformation department and covers end-to-end responsibility for building and operating a secure Public Cloud, that is in line with Swiss Re’s security framework, local regulatory and compliance guidelines, and business needs. This ultimately enables Swiss Re to utilize the power and flexibility offered by public Cloud to deliver higher value to the business and enabling business transformation.


About the Role

As a Platform Support / SRE, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of the Swiss Re’s Azure platform. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing technical solutions that align with the company’s strategic goals.

Your main responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality code and solutions, focusing on reliability, automation and security.
  • Operate the production systems in close collaboration with product engineering teams, closely monitoring service availability, latency, and performance. Take charge of incident resolution impacting the production platform and lead detailed root cause investigations during postmortems, encouraging a culture of seamless work across teams.
  • Focus on delivering automated and self-healing systems. Continuously engage in workload planning and exploring solutions to increase the efficiency of the platform using the opportunities of the public clouds
  • Provide technical support and guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the platform.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the cloud space.

Qualifications/About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in providing technical support and guidance for cloud-based systems and infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Experienced working in agile environments using Scrum/Kanban
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
