Azure Platform Senior Cloud Engineer

About the Team

The Azure Cloud Platform is a unit within the Public Cloud Transformation department and covers end-to-end responsibility for building and operating a secure Public Cloud, that is in line with Swiss Re’s security framework, local regulatory and compliance guidelines, and business needs. This ultimately enables Swiss Re to utilize the power and flexibility offered by public Cloud to deliver higher value to the business and enabling business transformation.

About the Role

As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based systems and infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the cloud platform. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing technical solutions that align with Swiss Re’s strategic goals.

Your main responsibilities

Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-based systems and infrastructure.
Develop and maintain technical roadmaps and architecture diagrams for the cloud platform.
Ensure that all cloud-based solutions are designed and implemented in accordance with industry best practices and standards.
Lead the development of technical solutions that align with the company’s strategic goals.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to other members of the team.
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the cloud space.

Qualifications/About You

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based systems and infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Experience with Azure DevOps.
Experienced working in agile environments using Scrum/Kanban
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
