About the Role

As a Data Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our data transformation initiatives, designing and delivering best-in-class data engineering capabilities that support our company's ambition to become truly data-driven. You'll leverage your expertise in architecting, building, and testing data management solutions within our cloud infrastructure to unlock the full potential of our data assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Product Owners and Architects to understand requirements, formulate solutions, and evaluate implementation efforts

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data transformation pipelines that turn raw data into valuable business insights

  • Create and implement analytics models and visualizations to provide actionable data insights for stakeholders across the organization

  • Evaluate new capabilities of our analytics platform, develop prototypes, and assess their applicability to our solution landscape

  • Collaborate with global development teams to design and deliver innovative data solutions that meet business needs

About the Team

Property & Casualty Data & Analytics Engineering is a key tech partner for our Property & Casualty Reinsurance division, supporting the transformation of the data landscape and the creation of innovative analytical products and capabilities. We are a large globally distributed team working in an agile development landscape, delivering solutions to make better use of our reinsurance data and enhance our ability to make data-driven decisions across the business value chain.

About You

You're a curious problem-solver who thrives in collaborative environments and is passionate about turning complex data challenges into elegant solutions. You're excited about the potential of data to transform businesses and eager to contribute your technical expertise to our growing team.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, or similar discipline

  • At least 3-5 years of experience working with large-scale software systems

  • Proficient in Python & PySpark (must)

  • Strong SQL skills (Spark SQL preferred)

  • Palantir Foundry experience in required

  • Experience working with large data sets on enterprise data platforms and distributed computing (Spark/Hive/Hadoop preferred)

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Experience with JavaScript/HTML/CSS

  • Cloud environment experience (AWS or Azure)

  • Knowledge of Insurance Domain, Financial Industry, or Finance function in other industries

  • Experience working in global and multicultural environments
