About Role

To maintain ground-breaking propositions of Magnum and support the next wave of innovations, we are looking for an Engineering Manager who is passionate about software architecture and is driven to pursue excellence in delivering premier InsurTech Solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage IT Projects from start to completion as part of an Agile setup.
• Provide direction and technical expertise in design, development and systems integration
• Guide the team through development, testing and implementation stages and review the completed work effectively
• Manage change and effectively pass on the information down the line to concerned teams for smoother execution
• Match project tasks with opportunities for development so that employee potential is utilized to the maximum
• Make quick decisions and solve technical problems to provide an efficient environment for project implementation.
• Identify resource requirements, efficient capacity planning and manage software & hardware availability
• Ensure standard operating procedures and project guidelines are in place
• Task allocation and performance evaluation of team members
• Project scheduling and resource management
• Lead the development of features and capabilities with highest level of quality, reliability, efficiency and scalability
• Oversee the team, manage workloads, ensure productivity and create a positive work environment.
• Guide teams and make informed decisions on technology use and implementation.
• Work in a well-established SaaS product engineering environment and collaborating closely with other stakeholders such as Product Owners, Architects, Solutions Architects and engineering teams involving developers and QA experts

Qualifications

• Overall, 12-16 years of experience including 4+ years in the management of complex technical projects and 8+ years of development experience as part of an Agile team.
• Effectively lead teams and inspire others to achieve goals through innovation, quality and excellence.
• Resource management skills and ability to handle complex/sensitive issues
• Ability to communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
• Proficient in handling complex technical development concepts, software tools and technologies, strong database concepts and design techniques.
• Ability to solve problems in coding, testing and deployment.
• Having experience as a Technical Project Manager is a must.
• Primary technical skills include Java, Spring Boot, Scrum, Safe Agile, Automation testing, SaaS Multi-tenant, Hibernate, Junit, REST API, Swagger, Jira, Confluence
• Good to have any cloud knowledge working on Azure, AWS or GCP.  Preferably Azure cloud.
• Have a strong technical background with a career journey which encompasses software development and eventually transitioning into a Technical Project Manager role.
• Having authority in Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban or SAFe and have experience in redefining a team from a waterfall approach to an Agile product development way of working.
• Have a problem-solving temperament and should be able to manage challenges related to delivery and facilitate an efficient environment for project delivery.
• Personal demeanor that is in sync with the following values: proactivity, ownership and continuous improvement.
• PMP Certification, SAFe certification and/or Scrum Master Certification is strongly preferred.
• Preferrable Cloud Certifications: Microsoft Certified:  Azure – Fundamentals Exam AZ-900 or Azure Developer – Associate Exam AZ-204
