About the Role

As a Senior UI Developer, you'll be the technical cornerstone of our product development lifecycle. You'll collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and UX teams to architect, implement, and maintain sophisticated user interfaces that meet business needs while delivering exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement scalable, high-performance UI solutions across multiple products

  • Lead technical strategy for frontend development, ensuring maintainability and performance

  • Establish and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and reusable component libraries

  • Collaborate across global teams with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership within cross-functional teams

  • Evaluate and integrate emerging frontend technologies through proof-of-concept initiatives

  • Optimize performance and ensure accessibility compliance in all UI implementations

  • Manage application lifecycle from planning through delivery, including risk assessment and task prioritization

About the Team

Our team is the global L&H Reinsurance Engineering team, responsible for the technical Architecture and Engineering of IT solutions for Reinsurance business unit. The team members are passionate about technologies in building enterprise grade products with a deep understanding of reinsurance business. We closely collaborate with other teams and colleagues around the globe to share knowledge and engineer solutions.

 

Growing experience will, over time, give you a broad view on Architecture & Engineering of a global reinsurer and enable you to have a comprehensive understanding, people and systems involved and how these systems shape business outcomes. This will allow you to build up an excellent foundation for a next career step in a role closer to the operational business activities in our global organization.

About You

You're passionate about creating elegant, efficient solutions and continuously expanding your technical expertise.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in UI technologies

  • Expert-level proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and frontend frameworks (React.js preferred)

  • Strong understanding of UI architecture, component-based development, and state management (Redux, Context API, MobX)

  • Proven experience architecting large-scale, component-driven applications

  • Experience defining design systems and maintaining component libraries

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Playwright) and CI/CD processes

  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices

  • Knowledge of progressive web apps, server-side rendering, and headless CMS integrations

  • Understanding of security best practices and data privacy compliance

  • Contributions to open-source UI frameworks or community engagement

  • Experience with high-performance, data-intensive UI applications

  • Understanding of insurance/reinsurance business

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across cultures and geographies
