About the team

The Cloud Transformation Delivery Team is a newly formed unit in the Public Cloud Transformation department. The team focuses on driving cloud transformation across the business domain ITs through architecture consulting as well as hand-on engineering. The team also acts as a gateway to understand customer's needs and help establish new services and capabilities on the platform.

The Cloud Transformation Delivery's mission is to deliver business value through enabling Swiss Re and the business units to utilize the power and flexibility offered by public Cloud and accelerate the public cloud adoption across Swiss Re.

We are searching for a Cloud Transformation Architect to join our growing Public Cloud Transformation team reporting to the Cloud Transformation Delivery Director. Working very closely with our Business Unit application teams and architects to realise the benefits of moving to Public Cloud Services and enabling a robust feedback loop to prioritise our platform and engineering roadmap accordingly.

Your main responsibilities:

• Gain a deep understanding of the IT Domain's context and plans and provide Public Cloud services to meet the needs of that domain including advising and consulting on the domain's cloud design and implementation, providing guidance and coaching on Cloud economics, strategic alignment, and common practices & patterns. Share information on other SR implementations and drive adoption of the Public Cloud standard.
• Analyze and understand business needs, design, and propose cloud native solution architecture based on workload in line with our cloud strategy, guardrails and cloud technology principles.
• Participate and drive implementation of cloud solution with domain IT teams and ensure the public cloud transformation goals are delivered effectively and in time.
• Apply technical knowledge and customers' insights to create cloud modernization roadmaps that are future proof and
• Collaborate with the broader Architects and engineering team in Cloud Transformation department to identify and promote synergies between Business Units, establishing and promoting cloud architecture and design patterns for effective cloud adoption.
• Engage with subjective matter experts in Security, Governance and Enterprise Architecture teams to contribute and develop cloud technology roadmap and adherence to best practices

About you

We are happy to meet you if you possess:

• University degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or comparable education/experience)
• >8 years of relevant development and architectural experience.
• Ability to understand overall application portfolios, IT and business priorities and success measures to design comprehensive services and solutions on Cloud.
• Extensive and proven experience working with Azure and/or AWS Cloud and Cloud Native architectures including ability to quickly learn and understand new cloud services to achieve optimum efficiency.
• Practical experience in building and delivering complex solutions on cloud using Data and AI services, microservices architecture, serverless computing etc.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Azure Services like Azure Kubernetes Services, Azure Web Apps, Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Machine Learning, Virtual Networks, etc.
• Strong understanding of cloud security including application and network level security best practices, able to apply and contribute to cloud security standards.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, infrastructure as code
• Passion to guide others in turning technology capabilities into business outcomes by applying right architecture and building right solutions for addressing business needs.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels while building strong trust relationships.
• Very strong analytical & conceptual skills.
• At ease working in a transformational and complex environment at a fast-pace and getting things done.
• Proficiency in English is required.
