About the Role

 

As a Financial Reporting Associate, you will play a meaningful role in supporting the financial reporting and analysis for the US P&C Reinsurance legal entities. You'll be part of a collaborative team that delivers accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to key stakeholders across Finance and business functions. Beyond traditional financial reporting, you will help shape the future of Finance by contributing to the transformation of reporting processes through automation, AI-enabled solutions and modern technologies. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and compile high-quality financial information on a U.S. Statutory basis, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and review processes
  • Support legal entity performance analysis, including variance analysis and trend monitoring to provide actionable insights to finance and business partners
  • Assist with period-end close and reporting activities, maintaining accuracy and adherence to established controls and deadlines
  • Execute assigned control activities and maintain thorough documentation within the financial reporting environment
  • Contribute to the transformation of Finance by identifying process improvement opportunities and leveraging automation, AI-enabled solutions and modern technologies to increase efficiency, strengthen controls and streamline workflows
  • Collaborate with internal partners and global finance teams to support a wide range of reporting and analytical requests

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, with exposure to U.S. Statutory accounting or insurance accounting being a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; genuine interest in learning reporting and automation tools
  • Strong interest in leveraging modern technologies and AI to transform Finance processes
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively in a reporting environment
  • Strong intellectual curiosity to perform root cause analysis and understand and challenge status quo
  • Proactive approach to continuous learning and self-development

 

These are additional nice-to-haves:

  • Prior experience in the property and casualty insurance industry, financial reporting, or public accounting/audit
  • Active progress toward CPA certification or CPA designation is a plus
  • Familiarity with financial systems or reporting automation tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, or similar)
  • Experience with U.S. Statutory or IFRS accounting standards within the insurance industry
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional or global team environment

 

The role will be located in our Kansas City, MO office. Our company uses a hybrid work model requiring at least three days in the office each week, with the option to work onsite full-time if preferred.  This position is not eligible for full-time telework, relocation assistance or visa sponsorship.

 

The estimated base salary range for this position is $52,000 to $78,000. The specific salary offered for this, or any given role, will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
