About the Role
In this role you will advise internal clients on corporate and commercial matters, in North America and beyond. This role also supports internal projects and actively shares knowledge to promote consistency and increase the agility and effectiveness of your team.
Additional expectations of the role include:
- Draft and provide legal advice, review contracts and other legal documentation, provide presentations and training.
- Partner with fellow Swiss Re legal specialists, including reinsurance and insurance attorneys, dispute resolution, compliance, corporate governance, employment and intellectual property experts on legal advisory matters.
- Develop efficient policy and practice, manage external legal counsel, and contribute to legal reporting and legislative and regulatory monitoring.
About You

This role also requires:
- You are a US qualified attorney with a minimum of five years of experience with a law firm or in-house in (re)insurance/financial services.
- You are detail-oriented and dedicated to providing high-quality, timely client service balanced with a clear focus on protecting the interests and reputation of the firm.
About the Team
This role is part of Property & Casualty (P&C) & Life & Health (L&H) Reinsurance Legal, a passionate, collaborative, international team providing legal support and pragmatic counsel to the reinsurance business and operations teams. Although the role will be based in and focused on the US, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues around the world and support global initiatives, bringing tangible value to your clients.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $156,000 to $240,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
