About Us

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Americas is a $2.5 billion commercial insurance writer in the U.S. Canada and Latin America. Finance teams sit in 5 separate countries. We have more than a dozen insurance carriers and are converting from US GAAP to IFRS for Group Reporting in 2024.

 

About the Role

In this position, you will be a key member of the Financial Reporting team in the Corporate Solution's primary insurance unit. Corporate Solutions is in the process of moving to a new financial reporting landscape, with replacements of both the general ledger and sub ledgers. This person will play a key role in the implementation of the new financial landscape as well as in the rollout of the new IFRS accounting regime.

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Work with both the Swiss Re Group and Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' teams to execute the rollout of the new general ledger and sub ledgers in the United States and Canada.
  • Assist in the interpretation of policy work and ensure smooth process and system changes within the IT landscape
  • Lead change management of established quarterly reporting process and applications used for existing Group Level reporting (US GAAP and Economic Value Management) and the transition to IFRS reporting
  • Close coordination to the IT Team to ensure the system changes are appropriately implemented
  • General requirements processing and prioritization with close coordination with the Business Unit Teams to capture requirements for local IFRS and Group IFRS reporting
  • Stakeholder management and ensuring alignment of communication with business and finance
  • Critical issue process management.

 

About You

We encourage your application if you have the following:

  • 7 plus years of accounting/financial reporting experience. Big 4 a plus, CPA a plus
  • Insurance experience (mandatory)
  • Proven experience in delivering a transformation project
  • Solid understanding of IFRS accounting for and experience in external reporting
  • Experience in establishing a working project team structure and project management
  • Experience in driving a successful change management plan
  • Experience in directing IT teams on application development & rollout projects (define requirements, design, build, testing, go live)
  • Digital, operational improvement, and agile attitude
  • Strong problem solving, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in delivering key messages to senior executives.
