About the Role

Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of an incubator team responsible for providing support for all aspects of Regulatory Operations Compliance and Project Management Support? Ideal incumbents would work collaboratively with several departments ensuring that products new to the portfolio align with all laws, regulations and industry standard methodologies specific to form and rate filings and system implementation.

About the Team

Ideal candidates will be individual contributors who will respond to internal customer inquiries concerning items such as notice requirements, cancellation/non-renewal requirements, filing laws and other product compliance issues.

A key responsibility of the role is the review and examination of state insurance department statues, regulations, bulletins, etc. to establish impact and ensure adherence to filing and regulatory requirements. Stay current on changes and developments that impact insurance design and development.

You will analyze and interpret Department of Insurance regulatory laws for development of compatible policies and implementation into policy issuance systems and appropriate compliance support.

We are looking for someone who will work independently to assess the impact to existing processes with new product offerings, collaborate with business partners and ensure appropriate solutions are tested and implemented.

You will own the creation and submission of state rate, rule and forms filings commensurate with business objectives and in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

This position will provide direction and support to the business throughout the development and preparation of filing materials. In conjunction with the business, establish the overall filing strategy. Assist, as needed, with the creation of forms and rules. Coordinate interaction with business unit underwriters, legal and other areas to assure appropriate individuals are involved and kept updated during the course of a filing.

You will lead and coordinate the communication and negotiation of filings with insurance departments in a manner that will result in timely approval of company products.

We are seeking candidates who can apply problem-solving techniques to assist business unit personnel when responding to regulatory compliance issues.

Ensure company's internal tracking system is updated and accurate with current regulatory compliant product filing information.

About You

  • Candidates should have a college degree or equivalent work experience, 7+ years previous work experience with a commercial Property and Casualty insurance carrier.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in insurance rate and form filing, underwriting or state regulatory authorities.
  • Insurance Designation preferred (CPCU, IIA, ASF, CSF, INS)
  • Background and familiarity with Agile Project Management preferred
  • Solid research, project management, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others as a teammate as well as independently on individual tasks and projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities with the capacity to achieve results within and across diverse organizational units and disciplines (e.g. offshore, outsourced, or other internal regional teams).
  • PC Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint; Proficient in SERFF, NILS, NCCI and ISONet.
