About the role & Team

The Corporate Solutions North America Finance team is responsible for the financial management of the Corporate Solutions North America entities, including the quarterly financial closing for US GAAP, EVM and the relevant statutory valuations.

In addition, the team also contributes to the financial planning and analysis of the entities, providing quality management information for reporting and decision making, both historic and forward looking projections. We also contribute to a number of development projects.

 

We are now recruiting a senior accountant with an accounting background, passionate about being involved in the growing business unit.

In this role you are responsible for assistance in the quarter close activities, including but not limited to reconciling balance sheet accounts, assisting with quarterly reporting, and interacting with the external and internal auditors.  You will provide support where required, but also seek possibilities to further develop and improve the team's delivery processes. Your broad skills mean you can support and perform quality checks on output produced by your team to your main customers within Corporate Solutions Finance.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Support comprehensive analysis with respect to the accounting policy, reporting, monitoring and reconciliation activities according to management requirements
  • Assist in the preparation of timely and accurately data for internal and external reporting
  • Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements
  • Support audit activities and prepare required information in connection with the external audit and other external parties
  • Liaise with stakeholders for the entities across the relevant accounting valuations (US GAAP, Local Stat, IFRS and EVM).

 

About you

Knowledge

  • At least five years of work experience in the insurance industry
  • University degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong knowledge of statutory accounting policies and regulatory framework

Skills

  • Communicate effectively at all levels, including written and oral presentation, engaging partners as appropriate
  • Demonstrate good organizational skills, with an analytical and structured approach to work
  • Excellent analytical skills with holistic financial thinking

Experience

  • Experience in US GAAP / Local Statutory
  • Experience with IFRS desirable.
