Records Management Associate

 

About the Role:


We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Records Management Associate to join our Swiss Re team in Kansas City. This role will play a key part in supporting the lifecycle management of physical records across Swiss Re's Americas Region. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in archives or records management and will thrive in a collaborative, hands-on environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Records Lifecycle Management: Support the creation, maintenance, and disposal of Swiss Re’s physical records, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Regional Operations Support: Assist in overseeing and coordinating physical records management operations throughout the Americas Region.
  • Process Execution: Perform tasks related to physical records processes as defined by the Document and Records Management (DRM) team.
  • Onsite Project Support: Participate in office-based records management projects such as box cleanup, indexing, and records disposal.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Provide ad hoc consultation and support to internal business stakeholders regarding physical records inquiries and needs.

 

About You:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

 

  • Proven experience in an archives, library, or records management environment.
  • Familiarity with physical records handling, retention policies, and metadata standards.
  • Ability to analyze and process large spreadsheets containing metadata; strong Excel skills and attention to data integrity are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across regional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Masters in Archives, Records Management or adjacent study.
  • Knowledge of records management standards and best practices (e.g., ISO 15489, ARMA principles).
  • Experience working in a corporate or regulated environment.
  • Project coordination experience is an asset.

 

 

Swiss Re has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office three days per week. The estimated base salary range for this position is $68,000 to $102,000. The specific salary offered for any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
