Senior Accountant (Hybrid Work Model)

We are looking for a senior accountant who is passionate about being involved in a growing business unit! 

 

About the Role

 

This role assists in the quarter close activities, including but not limited to reconciling balance sheet accounts, assisting with quarterly reporting, and interacting with the external and internal auditors.  You will provide support where required, but also seek possibilities to further develop and improve the team's delivery processes. Your broad skills mean you can support and perform quality checks on output produced by your team to your main customers within Corporate Solutions Finance.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Assist in the timely and accurate preparation of data for internal and external reporting
  • Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements
  • Support comprehensive analysis with respect to the accounting policy, reporting, monitoring and reconciliation activities according to management requirements

 

 

About the Team

 

The Corporate Solutions North America Finance team is responsible for the financial management of the Corporate Solutions North America entities.  This includes the quarterly financial closing for US statutory valuations and contributing to the financial planning and analysis of the entities.  We proudly provide quality management information for reporting and decision making, both historic and forward-looking projections as well as a number of projects.

 

 

About You

 

You are a great communicator with superior organization and you compliment your excellent analytical skills with a holistic financial approach

 

Must have:

  • College degree in finance or accounting
  • 3+ years of work experience in the insurance industry
  • Strong knowledge of statutory accounting policies and regulatory framework

 

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledgeable in the application of US Statutory accounting principles; IFRS desirable but not necessary
  • CPA certification or equivalent preferred
