Actuarial Business Systems Analyst (Hybrid, m/f/x/d, 80-100%)
As a Junior Actuary, you will play a vital role in supporting the actuarial team through data analysis, financial modeling, and risk assessment to help drive informed business decisions. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to apply quantitative skills and develop expertise in actuarial science. You’ll work collaboratively with senior actuaries, analysts, and other financial professionals, gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and methodologies.
About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious junior actuary to join our team and support the project of building a tool to manage the Ultimate Values on an individual contract level.
• You will work on Actuarial and Finance system development and collaborate closely with the IT workstream
• You will produce functional requirements for the integrated actuarial system to be built.
• You will align across workstreams and manage dependencies on linked requirements, understanding the project scope and the interdependencies between various components
• You will participate in the testing process to validate that the system meets specified requirements, including user acceptance testing (UAT) and other forms of validation to ensure the system's functionality and performance.
• You will ensure that all functional specifications and requirements are well-documented for the IT project team and future reference
• You regularly interact with other functions such as Underwriting, Claims, Technical Accounting and Finance as well as with senior management, building trustful long-term relationships
• You will regularly work on data analytics tasks
• You will receive the necessary training and career-development opportunities
• We encourage to pursue actuarial qualification with one of the major actuarial societies
About the Team
The P&C Reserving Tools & Processes team consists of 8 actuaries, 2 PMO's, and one Business Analyst, all from diverse cultural backgrounds. We place a high value on teamwork and a collaborative spirit. We frequently interact with many stakeholders from different functions, making strong communication skills just as important as technical expertise. We are primarily responsible for the in-house built reserving tool and are currently working on a new project to develop a tool for managing Ultimate Values on an individual contract level.
About You
Are you’re an aspiring actuary with 2-5 years of experience in actuarial projects/reserving/financial reporting in Insurance or Reinsurance?
- Do you have a university degree in science or related subjects, and you possess strong analytical and quantitative skills?
- Additionally, we are looking for someone who is interested in statistical programming and data analytics and is eager to enhance their capabilities in these areas.
- You should be fluent in English and another major language, with multicultural communication skills, curiosity, and a great team spirit. We consider proficiency in any other major language a plus.
- You should be comfortable multitasking, demonstrate courage and integrity, and earn trust with our partners. We also welcome outstanding candidates with limited work experience who are passionate about pursuing an actuarial career.
