We are looking for an analytically savvy individual with experience in behavioural science and/or quantitative user experience research to join the BRU. You will join us in applying cutting edge research from behavioural science to understand the true drivers of human behaviour. By doing this, we achieve business impact and play a very strategic role for Swiss Re. We are a close-knit, international, fun team cultivating a fascinating topic within a well-established, global company.
About the Role:
Overview:
- 80-100% working capacity
- The preferred location is London, but we may consider other locations too
- This is a 2-year fixed-term contract
What's in it for you?
We are writing a new chapter in behavioural data science, which is an emerging field both in the academic and corporate sectors. If you want to be part of this revolution and you want to model behaviour based on data, this is the opportunity!
From day one, you will own discrete workstreams and contribute to strategic recommendations that influence underwriting strategy, innovation priorities and client solutions. You will develop deep expertise at the intersection of behavioural science, data analytics and UX/UI design, while benefiting from close mentoring and strong learning opportunities.
You will receive a wealth of experience in behavioural science and analytics in a large corporate, with close mentoring and training opportunities. You will have exposure to working with behavioural scientists and multidisciplinary experts in data science around the company. Swiss Re champions performance culture, inclusion, provides flexibility in working hours, and offers a competitive salary & benefits package.
Your responsibilities include:
- Analytics support: Independently design and deliver analytics and behavioural science workstreams in support of strategic and underwriting-relevant projects. Apply qualitative and quantitative research methods (e.g. regression analysis, hypothesis testing, survey design and analysis, surveys of AI simulated populations) to generate insights into human decision-making in insurance settings. Source, assess, clean and integrate internal and external datasets, ensuring analytical robustness and business relevance. Support the development of AI use-cases across the value-chain of the workstreams performed by the behavioural science community across the SR Group.
- Research and insight generation: Conduct structured literature reviews across behavioural science, economics and decision science, synthesising academic and applied insights into clear strategic implications. Translate analytical findings into concise, decision-ready recommendations for senior stakeholders. Ensure behavioural perspectives are embedded in broader business and strategy discussions across Life & Health.
- Task ownership: Own the end-to-end delivery of behavioural analytics projects or analytics components within internal consulting projects and selected external engagements. Structure ambiguous business questions into analytical approaches and clearly defined outputs. Coordinate with internal partners and external data providers to deliver high-quality, timely results. Combine behavioural insights with data-driven thinking, design thinking and user-centric approaches to create scalable solutions for Swiss Re and its clients.
- Disseminate expertise: Act as a subject-matter expert in behavioural economics and analytics, supporting colleagues in the BRU and wider SR Group. Own and contribute to internal publications, presentations and selected external communications linked to your projects. Actively identify opportunities to increase the visibility and impact of behavioural insights within Swiss Re and the insurance industry.
