We are a team of 9 Client Underwriters looking after Property & Casualty London Market business, which comprises UK & Ireland Domestic business some International Business written out of London and Bermuda. We consider ourselves a very dynamic team with loads of energy. We work together closely within the team and with our colleagues from other functions. The team embraces the flexibility that Swiss Re provides when it comes to the way we work.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated person to join our Client Underwriting team based in London focusing on Casualty.
The position will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal casualty treaty business, predominantly in the UK/Ireland and in the International Business segments.
You will be a key contact for our clients and broker so relationship building and management is an important area of the role.
This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic and ambitious team. Together with our Client Management, Products Underwriting, Solutions and Transactions teams, you will contribute to the overall plan, objectives and initiatives of the UKI Market.
About You
We are seeking a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building valuable relationships with external partners. You have earned trust through open and transparent communication and have empowered others through effective knowledge sharing. Your problem-solving skills are outstanding, and you approach challenges with creativity.
We would like you to:
• Have at least 3 years' experience in Casualty reinsurance and potentially insurance underwriting.
• Think innovatively and have a real passion for providing high-quality underwriting to best serve our clients' needs.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of UK and Ireland Casualty insurance and reinsurance markets.
• Have sound actuarial and/or analytical skills.
• Have a proficient knowledge of (re)insurance contract wordings. Legal knowledge is advantageous.
• Show outstanding problem-solving aptitude and creative approach.
• University degree or equivalent preferred. #LI-Hybrid
