Head Compliance P&C & L&H Re EMEA (80-100% working degree)
About the Role
Leadership
• Plan for required budget, FTEs and skills for EMEA Compliance Reinsurance team
• Manage and develop talent within the EMEA region
• Develop Compliance Plan and monitor delivery for the respective activities
• Provide updates on relevant topics for senior management, EMEA stakeholders and audit committee reporting
• Promote and participate in strategic planning and execution, including improvements to the Compliance Programme & overall Reinsurance Compliance delivery and vision
Client facing compliance
• Establish relationships with senior management in Reinsurance EMEA
• Perform detailed risk assessments for the purposes of developing a Compliance risk heat map and allocate planning and assurance resources appropriately
• Assess and report compliance risk exposure of clients, region and Legal Entities
• Provide compliance guidance to clients (implementation of policies, best practice processes and controls, business decision evaluations, and project support)
• Monitor regulatory changes to ensure requirements are adhered to and adequately mitigated
• Develop and maintain local policies in coordination with global policy framework and support development of global policies
• Develop and deliver training in coordination with global team
• Receive, identify and report issues, losses & incidents and provide remediation recommendations
• Perform investigations in coordination with the Assurance team
• Support for the Integrated Assurance Framework working in close collaboration with Group Internal Audit and Risk Management
• Serve as formal Officer for regulated and unregulated entities as required
About the Team
The Head Compliance P&C & L&H Re EMEA reports to the Head Compliance P&C & L&H Reinsurance (Zurich based) and will be based in London or Zurich, with team members based in Bratislava, Cape Town, London and Zurich. The role will have 7 direct reports and the team supports local offices in multiple jurisdictions across EMEA.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, enabling effective collaboration across teams and with key stakeholders. They should also demonstrate strong strategic thinking and planning abilities, with a proven capacity to develop and implement effective long-term solutions.
We would like you to have:
• University or equivalent qualification
• Extensive compliance, audit or risk management experience, preferably in an insurance or financial services company
• Solid understanding of control processes and systems
• Strong ability to identify risk and assess process controls
• Strong project management and analytical skills
• Prior experience with team management
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages desirable
• Prior experience in insurance industry & multiple jurisdictions is an advantage
