About the Role
As Lead P&C Re Market Development, you will serve as the dedicated senior strategy expert for market and competitor insight within P&C Reinsurance. Embedded in the Executive Office and closely aligned with Group Strategy, you will independently drive targeted analyses across the global P&C reinsurance landscape to inform Business Unit-level decisions.
The role focuses on identifying and assessing strategic growth opportunities, conducting in-depth competitor and market analyses, and translating external trends into clear strategic options for P&C Re. You will act as a trusted thought partner to the Executive Committee and senior leaders, strengthening strategic discussions through fact-based insights, scenarios, and forward-looking perspectives. This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports, offering high visibility, significant influence, and direct exposure to BU and Group-level strategy discussions. Success in this role is enabling the P&C Re leadership to have earlier, sharper, and more actionable strategic choices on growth, positioning, and investment, grounded in differentiated market and competitor insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Market & Competitor Intelligence - Lead targeted analysis of global P&C reinsurance markets and competitor dynamics, in close alignment with Group Strategy, to identify trends, risks, and strategic implications for P&C Re.
- Strategic Optionality & Growth Themes - Develop forward-looking strategic options to support profitable growth, including market entry, portfolio repositioning, capability investment, and partnership models.
- Executive Decision Support - Provide concise, fact-based analyses, scenarios, and recommendations to support Executive Committee and senior leadership decision-making on growth and positioning topics.
- Strategic Alignment & BU Perspective - Ensure strong alignment with Group Strategy while articulating a distinct, BU-specific P&C Re perspective on market developments and competitive positioning.
- Strategic Insight & Storytelling - Synthesize complex external and internal information into clear, compelling narratives and materials for executive-level discussions.

- Proven ability to engage, influence, and build trust with senior stakeholders across the Business Unit and Group Functions, without formal leadership authority
- Strong strategic mindset with experience in competitor analysis, market assessment, and evaluation of strategic growth opportunities
- Resilient and structured, with a track record of navigating ambiguity and delivering high-quality strategic insights under time pressure
- Clear, pragmatic communicator with strong executive presence and the ability to challenge constructively
Professional Qualifications
- Advanced academic background (Master’s or MBA preferred), ideally with a focus on business, strategy, finance, or economics
- 7+ years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate development, market strategy or related roles, with demonstrated exposure to market analysis and competitor intelligence
- Experience in (re)insurance, financial services, or adjacent industries, with an excellent understanding of P&C reinsurance market trends and dynamics
- Experience working in large, global organizations, with exposure to senior executive decision-making processes
- Track record of delivering high-impact strategic analyses and building trusted relationships with senior leadership and key business stakeholders
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
For United Kingdom, the base salary range for this position is between 128'000 GBP and 192'000 GBP for a full-time role.

• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role
• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience
In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based annual bonus.
