Legal Counsel Capital Markets Finance

About the Role


We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Swiss legal counsel to support on a wide range of capital markets matters. 

 

Responsibilities:


•    Advise Swiss Re Group and its Business Units on all legal aspects of capital markets and financing transactions, including cashpooling structures, derivatives, securities lending, capital, liquidity management, bond issuances and related regulatory matters.
•    Actively contribute to shaping Swiss insurance regulations related to capital markets activities, lead and support group-wide internal projects, and assist in broader Legal & Compliance initiatives.

 

You will have regular interactions with the General Counsel Corporate Center & Group Functions, the Head of Capital Markets Finance Legal, Swiss Re Senior Management and other core clients.


About the Team 


Based in London and reporting to the head of the Capital Markets Finance Legal team (7 team members). 

 

The team is truly international, including UK , French and Swiss qualified lawyers. Team members are located in Zurich and London.


About you

 

An ideal candidate has strong ability to identify and report legal risks, provide expert advice, and apply sound judgment beyond legal regulations; excellent drafting, negotiation, and influencing skills. You are a trusted business partner with effective relationship management; communicate legal and compliance concepts clearly and succinctly and are able to take ownership of outcomes, and deliver practical solutions.
    
We would like you to have:

 

•    Law degree with honors and admission to practice (English, US, EU or Swiss qualification required; additional qualification preferred).
•    Minimum of 3 to 5 years of significant international legal experience in corporate, financial, and securities law, gained in a top-tier law firm and/or a renowned financial services organization.
•    Fluency in English, German would be a plus.
