Pricing Actuary (80-100% working degree, hybrid)
About the Role
In this role you will have a great opportunity to apply your technical actuarial and modelling skills across a wide variety of activities outlined below. The role will focus on critical illness reinsurance pricing and product development. It offers the opportunity for out of the box thinking, working on solutions to a broad range of challenges. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the market unit and experts across the globe. This is a client facing role: you will work closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver optimal solutions. You will also be encouraged to contribute to Swiss Re's wider market presence, including presenting at external events.
Key responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain critical illness pricing bases for UK & Ireland Life & Health
• Price reinsurance terms for UK and Ireland insurers for new and established products
• Build and maintain actuarial relationships with our clients' pricing and reinsurance teams
• Work collaboratively with clients on pricing and product development opportunities
• Monitor the performance of our critical illness reinsurance portfolio in conjunction with our reporting and experience studies teams
About the Team
Our London-based Life & Health pricing team delivers reinsurance pricing across a wide range of products in the UK & Ireland insurance markets where the main lines of business are mortality, critical illness and income protection.
We work cross functionally with our colleagues in client management, underwriting, claims and reporting teams. Our team is diverse, driven and has a strong sense of community. Our work is challenging, and we are committed, curious and encouraging of one another.
About You

• Qualified actuary (FIA/FFA/FSA or equivalent) with at least two years post qualification experience.
• Critical illness product knowledge and pricing experience essential
• Appetite for a multi-dimensional role that is both highly technical and client facing
• Excellent knowledge of relevant statistical and actuarial models (experience in GLMs and R would be an advantage)
• Possess excellent communication, influencing skills and able to work independently
• Highly motivated with the ability to produce accurate, high quality work, under tight deadlines, managing multiple priorities and clients effectively
• Bring client management/consultancy and negotiation experience
• Sound judgement and decision-making skills are your strength #LI-Hybrid
