Underwriter Casualty - Graduate (Hybrid, 100%)

You have a Bachelor, Master, or PhD degree with less than 3 years professional experience – we invite you to apply to our Graduate Programme which officially starts on 1 September 2025.

About the Role

 

This is a position for someone looking to become an underwriter in a fast growing and evolving portfolio. They will have the benefit of being able to learn from our existing team of market leading Senior Underwriters in the London Market, alongside the support of the wider Swiss Re technical training.

 

Your main tasks will be analysing the technical insurability of global corporates in respect of exposures and risk mitigators, reviewing cover structures, wordings and proposals and preparing quotations. You will work with our distribution partners and be expected to develop your own network.

 

This role will also have the benefit of working closely with the Head Casualty UK on the development and delivery of the EMEA and local Casualty Strategy.

The goal of this role is for the candidate to develop into a progressive primary and excess underwriter of Casualty insurance, while gaining valuable experience into portfolio management and strategy delivery, setting them up for future success in Underwriting.
