We offer a flexible working environment where curious and adaptable people thrive. Are you interested in joining us?

About the Role

We are offering a unique opportunity for you to join the P&C Risk Management team in reinsurance. In this role, you will spearhead our insurance risk reviews, a cornerstone of how we help the P&C business to remain resilient by probing critical areas and providing holistic, independent, well-informed, and tangible insights and advice to our business stakeholders. You will report to the "Head RM Reinsurance P&C Portfolio Review" and can leverage the entire P&C Risk Management leadership team to ensure that the risk reviews have the desired impact with the right stakeholders.

Core responsibilities:

•    Keep a close ear to the ground and identify potential areas of concern that may warrant a closer look
•    Set the ultimate risk review plan to cover areas of highest concern, guided by the team's focus areas (for 2021 these are "UW Mojo regained", "Turn attention to future risk", "gain comfort around P&C solutions")
•    Align the risk review plan with reviews/audits of other functions such as GIA and Governance
•    Staff and set up review teams and help review leads to refine scope and focus of the reviews
•    Ensure that the reviews are put together clearly and simply, worded in our stakeholders' language, by providing the "so what" and with the courage to voice unpopular views
•    Manage the IRR Analyst and IRR Administrator

About the Team

To achieve this, we strive to be credible partners to teams in underwriting, business management and client management, by providing independent insights and hands-on advice, connecting the dots, and challenging constructively where it matters. A good sense of humour, inclusion, care and collaboration are important to us as well as the ability to feed back with integrity.

About You

•    Substantial experience in P&C underwriting
•    Good network within Swiss Re's P&C underwriting organization
•    Natural curiosity for Swiss Re's P&C risk landscape and an ability to join the dots
•    Good big picture thinker but also able to connect the big picture to detail and understand what matters
•    Excellent written communication skills
•    Comfortable in engaging with senior management
•    Ability to gain buy-in and convey purpose
•    A constructive and self-confident challenger
•    Organized and get things done while keeping focus on what matters
