Compliance Officer iptiQ (m/f/x - hybrid)(80-100%)

About the Role

 

In this role you act as the Key Function Holder and AML expert within iptiQ EMEA Compliance team, establishing trusted relationships, you will be providing enabling advice on projects, products and operations identifying and managing compliance risk. You will act as regulatory appointed Compliance Officer in Luxembourg, including reporting to local Board and relevant Committees, and local point of contact for regulators in coordination with Regulatory Risk Management.

 

The iptiQ businesses within Swiss Re operate on a B2B2C basis and was established to provide protection solutions to consumers through partner arrangements. Our mission is to reduce the protection gap working with trusted partners using innovative and digital sales processes.

 

This role is based in Luxembourg and would require relocation. As an employer we support the relocation in line with our international mobility policy.

 

Responsibilities:

  • To be a trusted second Line of Defense partner to the iptiQ EMEA team focusing on a sound Compliance culture
  • Compliance Key Function Holder (as laid down in CAA circular 21/12) and Anti-Money-Laundering Officer for two retail insurance companies established in Luxembourg (iptiQ Life S.A. Luxembourg and iptiQ EMEA P&C S.A Luxembourg).
  • Maintain AML policies and process documents outlining how iptiQ and its branches implement Swiss Re Global Policies and Standards and local jurisdictional requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with Swiss Re and jurisdictional requirements applicable to branches, in coordination with the compliance officers appointed at the level of the branches.
  • Report on regulatory development and Compliance risk exposure to the iptiQ board of directors and relevant committees and input to Swiss Re Compliance reports
  • Provide relevant reporting to regulatory/competent authorities as appropriate
  • Providing compliance advice on oversight of distributors and outsourced service providers as part of the oversight framework and conducting specific compliance oversight as required
  • Develop tailored trainings, communications and targeted local policy and framework documents where needed; and support the implementation of new global standards
  • Support the Assurance teams working in close collaboration with Group Internal Audit and Risk Management
  • Monitor regulatory developments at national and EU level and assessment of published regulatory changes.
  • Represent the iptiQ EMEA Compliance Team at internal business meetings and Committees;

 

About the Compliance Team

 

We serve in a dual capacity in a governance and regulatory capacity as well as a client enabling function proudly supporting Reinsurance, Corporate Solutions, iptiQ, Asset Management and Group Function units. We are a diverse, talented group of people with teams in every major Swiss Re location around the world. 

The team provides valuable oversight across the whole insurance lifecycle, including touchpoints with Capital Markets, Human Resources and Digital Development.

 

About You

 

With your track record in managing compliance operations, you bring excellent analytical skills enabling a results-based workstyle with solid interpersonal skills helping you influence in a complex cross-functional environment.  You have a high sense of responsibility, initiative and a sharp understanding of control processes.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Diploma or at least 4 years of higher education in law or economics and minimum 3 years compliance experience, with significant experience in AML, data protection and conduct risk, or at least 10 years professional experience in the retail insurance (Life and Health products but also in Property and Casualty).
  • Professional experience, knowledge of the Luxembourg legal and regulatory AML/CFT framework
  • Experience working on partner distribution models and digital transformation.
  • Ability to work in a fluid, fast paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of the European regulatory environment and critical issues the industry is facing.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to balance professional independence with client service.
  • Ability to provide pragmatic guidance on compliance risk

 

Nice to have:

  • Any other language besides English is an advantage, specifically French or Dutch
