About the Role

As a Legal Counsel at iptiQ EMEA, you'll be at the forefront of providing expert legal guidance on insurance regulations, corporate governance, and business operations. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate legal risks while supporting our business growth in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to Solvency II framework and Luxembourg insurance regulations Legal Risk Management
  • Identify, assess, and develop strategies to mitigate legal risks across business operations Corporate Governance
  • Support effective governance processes and Corporate Secretariat matters Transaction Support
  • Provide legal advice on proposed business operations and transactions Documentation
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents and contracts Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external regulatory bodies Legal Advisory
  • Offer practical legal solutions to complex business challenges

About the Team

iptiQ EMEA Legal is part of Swiss Re's multi-jurisdictional Legal team based in Asia-Pacific, Europe and the US. We are responsible for legal matters relating to iptiQ EMEA. This includes maintaining effective systems for the identification, management and control of legal risks, evaluating proposed business operations and transactions and implementing effective governance processes. About You

You are a detail-oriented legal professional with a passion for insurance law and regulatory frameworks. You thrive in collaborative environments and excel at translating complex legal concepts into practical business advice. Your analytical mindset allows you to anticipate potential issues and develop proactive solutions, while your excellent communication skills enable you to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience with the Solvency II framework and Luxembourg regulatory framework applicable to insurance undertakings
  • Knowledge and experience with governance of regulated entities of the insurance sector and Corporate Secretariat matters
  • Knowledge of corporate legal framework applicable to Luxembourg companies
  • Law degree and qualification to practice law
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English 

These are additional nice to haves: 

  • Knowledge and experience in dealing with the Luxembourg Commissariat aux Assurances
  • Experience in internal reorganisations and M&A transactions
  • Capacity to work in French and German (English is a must)
  • Previous experience in the insurance or financial services industry
  • Project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities 

 

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week

 

The base salary range for this position will be shared with you during the interview process.
