Associate Security Architect

Join a team of cybersecurity professionals and help Swiss Re fulfil its mission of making the world more resilient. As an Associate Security Architect, you will contribute to security-by-design across Swiss Re by supporting architecture reviews, security requirements, standards, and governance activities. You will learn from experienced security architects while helping delivery teams understand and apply security expectations in a practical, consistent way. What’s more, you’ll be working in a hybrid setup, balancing work from home and the office premises.

About the team

The Enterprise Security Architecture team helps define, maintain, and apply security architecture across Swiss Re and its business domains. We translate security expectations into clear requirements, standards, architecture decisions, and practical guidance that enable secure transformation.

We work closely with security and technology teams across Swiss Re Group to promote security-by-design, assess security risks, and provide guidance. Our work supports aligned architectures, measurable security maturity, and clear security roadmaps for the organisation.

We are looking for a highly motivated team player with genuine passion for cybersecurity, a solid foundation in security concepts, and the curiosity to grow into enterprise security architecture. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with around 2–3 years of relevant experience who wants to support architecture reviews, document security guidance, and contribute to secure design decisions under the guidance of experienced architects.

In your role, you will…

  • Support senior security architects and enterprise security architects in architecture reviews, security advisory activities, and governance assessments
  • Help review security requirements, solution designs, architecture blueprints, and implementation approaches across applications, platforms, cloud services, and integration patterns
  • Contribute to the definition, documentation, and maintenance of security standards, requirements, reusable patterns, and architecture decision records
  • Collaborate with other security and technology teams to clarify security expectations and support practical adoption of security-by-design principles
  • Track, analyse, and document security architecture observations to support maturity assessments, roadmap discussions, and continuous improvement
  • Keep learning about cybersecurity technologies, architecture practices, and emerging risks, and share insights with the team

Your qualifications

Nobody is perfect, and no candidate meets 100% of our requirements. If you meet some of the criteria below, have around 2–3 years of relevant experience, and are curious about growing in security architecture within a well-established cybersecurity team, we’ll be more than happy to meet you!

  • What we need from you
    • A genuine passion for cybersecurity and an interest in how security architecture enables resilient business and technology change
    • Around 2–3 years of experience in one or more areas such as identity and access management, secure design, network security, application security, cloud security, data protection, vulnerability management, or risk-based decision-making, as well as willingness to dive into new areas
    • Familiarity with selected industry security frameworks, standards, or control practices, ideally in regulated environments
    • Ability to analyse technical information, ask the right questions, document findings clearly, and translate guidance into practical recommendations
    • Collaborative mindset, curiosity, integrity, and a proactive approach to learning and solving problems
    • Clear communication skills and confidence to work with colleagues across technology and security domains
    • Excellent command of both written and spoken English
  • Nice-to-have
    • A relevant degree, apprenticeship, or comparable practical experience in information security, computer science, or a related field
    • Relevant entry-level or practitioner certifications, or active interest in pursuing them, such as Microsoft Security, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity, CompTIA Security+, CCSP, SANS GIAC, or similar cybersecurity qualifications
    • Exposure to architecture documentation, security risk assessment, threat modelling, secure software development, or cloud security reviews
