Credit Portfolio Analyst (m/f/x/d, 80 - 100% Hybrid)

About the Role

 

Do you love quantitative methods and want to apply them in insurance? Are you excited by the idea of using advanced credit modelling techniques to create real commercial benefits? In this role, you'll collaborate with tasks like portfolio steering and model development in Credit, Surety and Political Risk Insurance lines of businesses, working closely with colleagues in diverse functions including underwriting, risk management, portfolio management and actuaries

 

You will be part of the C&S Product Centre Team and contribute to:


•    Assist senior management on their portfolio steering mandate, including such as renewal assessments and future business projections 
•    Identify portfolio optimization actions to maximize the long-term return on capital within the given capacity and limit constraints
•    Conduct scenario analysis and impact assessments and determine risk mitigating strategies
•    Ensure credit exposure data quality, including projections and deviation reports
•    Conduct market research, gather and analyse internal and external data, and deploy management reports on macroeconomic, geopolitical and credit industry trends and developments. Identify new risk pools and new access to risk pools
•    Contribute to our data and technology driven business transformation, supporting the development and maintenance of methodologies, models and tools used in costing, credit modelling and portfolio management

The Centre team ensures underwriting excellence across our business. We help steer the business according to strategic priorities, we drive transformation of our tools and processes and extensively advise the global team. 
We strive to enable the underwriters to strike the right balance between risk taking and gate keeping, with the client needs firmly in sight. For the leadership team, we are both sparring partner and challengers.

 

About You


You're a self-starter, organized and able to successfully handle multiple priorities and deadlines, managing diverse projects and tasks simultaneously.  You possess convincing interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relations in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment.  You are pragmatic with sound judgment and excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. Moreover, you excel at turning complex data into impactful visualizations for clear communication.


•    Looking for applicants with a solid quantitative foundation and a master's degree in mathematics, physics, quantitative finance, or similar disciplines
•    An in-depth knowledge of global macroeconomics and financial markets is essential. Additionally, proficiency in credit and financial risk modelling, along with familiarity with credit insurance products, is highly sought after
•    Demonstrated programming abilities (such as Python, Java, MATLAB), a keen interest in financial model implementation, and an aptitude for software development are highly advantageous
•    Excellent problem-solving capabilities
•    Desire to work in a dynamic, international work environment in oftentimes virtual team settings
•    Fluency in English is a must, other languages like Spanish or German a plus
•    Product owner or project management skills and experiences would be an advantage
