DevOps Engineer

About the team
The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for cybersecurity engineering and operations, governance, risk, and compliance. We define and advance the company's security strategy. As a part of the Security Team, the Customer IAM team provides a user-friendly experience for external customers of IAM services within Swiss Re. We're looking for an experienced professional with a passion for SDLC automation and technology
In your role, you will…
- Focus on operating the current and future new architecture in a high availability setup with ambitious SLAs
- Use DevOps tools to maintain IaC, automate changes and implement CI/CD delivery, developing and enhancing pipelines in ADO
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code to support the solution and ensure security compliance
- Fix, improve and advance infrastructure while solving underlying issues
- Collaborate with team members to plan features, analyse requirements and ensure application scalability and reliability
- Identify and eliminate toil by automating (automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments)
- Develop and implement automated testing procedures to identify vulnerabilities and ensure that new code doesn't introduce new security flaws
- Work with development and security teams to ensure that security is integrated into the development process from the beginning
- Work with QA experts to ensure our solutions and integrations meet high expectations for reliability and availability
- Contribute to the setup and configuration of the solution, implementing and maintaining configuration management
- Contribute to technical documentation and support of the solution
- Support production and the continuity of our services, troubleshooting and resolving complex systems and deployments issues
- Manage and monitor any resources and services
- Contribute to Swiss Re's Healthy and transparent risk culture where everyone engages in continuous risk accountability activities
Your qualifications

What we need from you
- 3+ years of relevant work experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role
- Basic understanding of Config management (Decoupling app code from config)
- Basic understanding of Security Best Practices (authN/authZ , safeguarding sensitive information through proper secrets handling techniques)
- Basic understanding of Software artifacts and repositories (Artifactory, Docker registry, rpm, npm, nuget, pypi, maven ...)
- Basic understanding of Code Quality and Security Tools (e.g. SonarQube, NexusIQ, AquaScan, others, ...)
- Proficiency in two programming/scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix or Windows server systems.
- Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
- Solid understanding of networking, including DNS, load balancing, firewalls.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot networking issues.
- Experience with IaC technologies (e.g., terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Practical experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Communicate clearly in writing to create technical documentation for simple systems
- Understanding of more advanced git operations using commands (stash, rebase, patch) and ability to handle merge conflicts
- Hands-on experience in IT operations, system administration or other applicable experience
- Experience with agile software development methodologies (e.g: Scrum, Kanban), CICD processes, automation for release deployment processes and DevOps
- A methodological, organized approach, proficient at prioritizing tasks and driving objectives to completion, reporting any impediment along the way
- Good interpersonal skills in spoken and written English
Nice-to-have
- A degree in Computer Science or comparable knowledge
- Understanding of technologies related to information security, vulnerability management, and Identity & Access Management
- Experience with diverse IT technologies
- Experience with security-related tools such as vulnerability scanners or intrusion detection/prevention systems
- Experience with agile development and DevOps methodologies
- Experience with Azure and Azure Devops /CICD tools

For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 41,000] and [EUR 68,000] (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.
In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based annual bonus
