About the Role

 

We're seeking a hands-on technology leader who can guide and inspire engineering teams to deliver client-facing solutions that align with our strategic vision. This role combines technical expertise with leadership acumen to drive innovation in our insurance technology portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead technology delivery for a portfolio of client-facing products in L&H Solutions
  • Collaborate closely with Product Area Leads, Product Owners, Business Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Sourcing Partners
  • Resolve priority challenges to ensure delivery supports organizational goals
  • Align technology strategy with fellow architects to optimize technology investments
  • Identify opportunities for experimentation and innovation to drive practices forward
  • Ensure solutions operate in an efficient and cost-effective manner
  • Guide and mentor talented architects and engineers in the L&H Solutions team
  • Report directly to the Head of Product & Engineering L&H Solutions

 

About the Team

 

At Swiss Re, we're on a journey to become a true Tech and Data driven company. Our L&H Solutions team builds enterprise SaaS solutions for insurance clients covering key parts of the primary value chain including Automated Underwriting, Data Driven Underwriting, and Claims Management. Our flagship product, Magnum, is an automated underwriting solution that helps over 70 insurers globally automate risk assessment in their Life and Health insurance transactions.

 

About You

 

We're looking for a senior technology leader with a hands-on approach who thrives in a transformational environment. You combine deep technical expertise with the ability to inspire teams and navigate complex organizational landscapes. Your passion for technology is matched by your commitment to quality and customer service.

 

We need you to bring in the following must-haves:

 

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science or equivalent field
  • Previous experience in software engineering with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and architecture patterns
  • Previous experience in IT position
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs
  • Proven ability to create applications compliant with global regulations and data protection guidelines
  • Experience applying technology to address business challenges and realize strategic vision
  • Combined agile practices with leadership skills across cultures and geographies
  • Commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to adapt to changing priorities

 

An additional nice-to-have skill:

 

  • Experience with SaaS business models and enterprise software delivery
For Spain the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 98.000] and [EUR 163.000] (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers: 
  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
  • the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.
 
In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognize your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.
