The programme offers you the chance to join the dynamic, fast-moving world of a leading risk knowledge organisation. Over an 18-month period, you’ll receive on- and off-the-job training, including a job rotation that gives you the opportunity to work across different business units.
About the role
Join a team of cybersecurity professionals and help Swiss Re fulfil its mission in making the world more resilient. As the Digital Risk Expert, you are responsible for driving digital risk governance and control processes by engaging with our peers and internal customers, primarily Risk Managers, Security Experts, Legal & Compliance Advisors and Technology Engineers across the businesses. You will collaborate with customers educating and supporting them on our risk control approach and work with the team to transform and continuously improve our governance processes for a trusted digital environment. What's more, you'll be working in a hybrid setup, perfectly balancing work from home and the office premises.
In your role, you will…
• Optimise control procedures, reducing complexity and increasing process effectiveness,
• Run digital risks assessments,
• Support the transformational changes within digital risk governance and control field,
• Help our customers in fulfilling risk control requirements and lead them through the overall process,
• Drive quick resolutions of customer or risk control team concerns, and
• Create metrics to ensure established goals are met and process improvements are sustained.
About the team
The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for cybersecurity engineering and operations, governance, risk and compliance, and defining as well as advancing the company's security strategy. As a part of the Security Team, the Digital Governance Centre of Excellence drives a unified operational digital risk governance and control function for Swiss Re, provides first-hand regulatory guidance and runs Swiss Re's Digital Governance Framework, enabling risk mitigation for sustainable tech and data-driven solutions.
About You
• Successfully completed university degree, preferably in risk control, security, legal studies or equivalent
• Strong interest in/motivation to learn about insurance/reinsurance
• Approaches problems with curiosity and open-mindedness, is a fast learner
• Innovative, showing a high degree of own initiative
• Team-player, willingness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit
• Ability and enthusiasm to work in a global and multicultural environment, and to be mobile in terms of workplace or location if required
• Aptitude to express yourself effectively in one-on-one conversations and small groups
• Mature & self-confident; able to work with clients, business partners or senior colleagues
• Capacity to readily adapt to a changing and dynamic environment
• Proven expertise to work independently and proactively
• Strong analytical skills and can focus on details without losing track of the bigger picture
• Excellent oral and written English skills
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills
