About the Role
The Head of Operations MGA & Facilities is a functional leadership role that serves as the operational center of excellence for MGA and Facilities activities across Corporate Solutions, responsible for leading operational strategy, execution, and oversight throughout the entire lifecycle of MGA and Facilities partnerships. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and re-shape a global operational capability for MGAs and Facilities, go-to market strategies that are changing the commercial insurance landscape.
Working within a highly matrixed global environment, this role coordinates operational capabilities across multiple regions and functional teams while shaping the future target operating model for MGA and Facilities business. Acting as a key partner to Underwriting Governance, this position has a seat at the table where Corporate Solutions is deciding to onboard or offboard new MGAs and Facilities, which includes an operational readiness assessment, and ensures seamless interaction between business ownership, governance oversight, and operational delivery. This role requires a powerful combination of operational leadership, change management, stakeholder influence, governance expertise, and a deep understanding of delegated authority business models.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Strategy

Lead the global operational framework supporting MGA and Facilities business across Corporate Solutions

Drive operational excellence, standardization, process optimization, and scalability across regions and market units

Establish and continuously improve operational capabilities supporting current and future MGA and Facilities business models

Act as a key contributor to the evolution of the MGA and Facilities Target Operating Model
Operational Readiness & Onboarding

Increase operational robustness in close collaboration with Digital & Technology CorSo and Operational Model Excellence (OMEX) teams

Own operational readiness assessments and oversee local MGA Managers in onboarding execution for new MGA and Facilities opportunities

Lead cross-functional due diligence activities involving Underwriting, Claims, Legal, Compliance, Outsourcing, Risk Management, and Operations

Support operational readiness and execution for MGA and Facilities renewals, ensuring required operational conditions, workflow changes, controls, and remediation actions are addressed

Ensure successful implementation of operational workflows, controls, system requirements, and onboarding deliverables
Governance, Controls & Oversight

Provide senior management with clear operational transparency on MGA & Facilities onboarding status, operational readiness, control adherence, remediation progress, data quality, and key operational risk themes

Ensure operational adherence within local MGA Operations teams to approximately 8-10 people, representing market units across the globe, to governance frameworks and operating standards, including oversight of controls, reporting, data quality, bordereaux management, policy bookings, and operational remediation activities.

Drive operational maturity initiatives globally to strengthen governance, transparency, and regulatory compliance

Promote the effective use of technology, data, automation, and Generative AI to improve operational workflows, reporting, insights, and scalability
Global Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

Act as the primary Operations interface for expert and control functions, ensuring operational requirements, control expectations, and remediation actions are understood and executed consistently

Partner closely with colleagues across the Global Underwriting Center to ensure alignment between governance, operational execution, and commercial objectives

Collaborate with Market Units, Line of Business leaders, OMEX, Claims, Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, Finance, and Technology teams

Influence senior stakeholders and facilitate decisions across organizational boundaries

Represent Operations in strategic initiatives, governance forums, and transformation programs related to MGA and Facilities business
Team & Capability Development

Provide strong functional leadership across a globally distributed operational network with a virtual team

Deliver hands-on operational direction, prioritization, guidance, coaching, and escalation support to local MGA Operations teams to promote consistent application of the framework

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, operational discipline, and continuous improvement

Support development of operational capabilities, knowledge sharing, and best practices across regions

Help build a sustainable operating model capable of supporting future business growth and increasing complexity

The MGA & Facilities Operations team is a globally distributed, high-impact group sitting at the
heart of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' delegated authority business. The team is responsible for driving operational excellence, governance adherence, and scalable execution across the full lifecycle of MGA and Facilities partnerships — from onboarding and due diligence through to ongoing oversight, controls, and remediation. Working in close partnership with Underwriting, the Global Underwriting Center, and a wide range of expert functions, the team plays a critical role in enabling profitable business while maintaining the robust governance and regulatory standards that underpin Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' global reputation. This is a team that thrives on collaboration, embraces complexity, and is committed to building the operational capabilities that will define the future of MGA and Facilities business.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

10+ years of experience in commercial insurance operations, delegated authority, MGA management, Facilities business, and underwriting operations, including in-depth knowledge of MGA and Facilities business models and delegated authority operations

Good understanding of governance, operational controls, regulatory requirements, outsourcing frameworks, and risk management practices within a global insurance environment

Demonstrated ability to drive operational transformation, process improvement, and organizational change across complex, matrixed organizations

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including proven experience engaging and influencing senior leaders across functions and geographies
-
Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus

For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between 63 000 EUR and 105 000 EUR for a full-time role. The specific salary offered considers:
