Our team, a software house within Swiss Re, develops cloud-native (Azure-based) SaaS/PaaS solutions for external Life & Health insurance clients. Our portfolio includes established products like Magnum and those in growth or incubation stages, used globally. We utilize the latest technology and prioritize innovation to stay competitive.
Our technical team comprises over 150 professionals with multidisciplinary skills, located in various countries, delivering highly available, multi-regional solutions used worldwide.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced IT Product Owner for our Data Analytics area.
Our Data & Analytics service provides a cloud-native big-data SaaS application, utilizing Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, and Azure Synapse on modern data lake house infrastructure and relational databases.
As IT product owner you would need to lead the implementation of a strategic roadmap. You will ensure that the technology team delivers value to the business, oversee daily and strategic delivery of technical solutions, and act as the main interface between Product Management and engineering teams. For this role both people and technical leadership are necessary.
Your main responsibilities include conveying the product vision to the team, prioritizing the backlog, and setting the direction for product releases and sprints. You will manage application releases and identify technical improvements within your area.
Your responsibilities will be:

Lead technology development by defining vision, prioritizing backlog, and ensuring business value delivery.

Translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions using Agile methodologies.

Validate technical designs for scalability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness, ensuring alignment with governance and security.

Set direction, break down complex initiatives, and coordinate delivery across multidisciplinary teams.

Maintain a balanced roadmap to keep solutions scalable, maintainable, and efficient.

Lead and schedule releases based on scope and dependencies.
About You

Proven experience in IT and software development management, especially with cloud solutions for enterprise.

Ability to analyze current state, define future vision, perform gap analysis, and give strategic recommendations.

Skilled at communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Solid understanding of technologies such as cloud platforms, application development, client/server systems, web and application servers, databases, data lakes, ETL/ELT, data ingestion, etc.

Deep understanding of SDLC phases and best practices.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with experience leading IT projects.

Demonstrated team leadership and performance management capabilities.

Experience managing multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.

Background in Data & Analytics is a plus.
