About the Role
In this role, as Operational Excellence Lead, you will play a critical role in transforming the operational model within Swiss Re's Credit & Surety (C&S) Line of Business. You will focus on enabling the implementation of operational model changes, by structuring, planning and leading cross-functional projects from start to completion. This all will result in lifting operational efficiency, process effectiveness, technology uptake, business growth and compliance, and ultimately contribute to our strategic business targets. Your expertise in the Credit line of business will be key to identifying opportunities for improvement and driving sustainable change.
Your main responsibilities will include:

Collaborating with our internal stakeholders across the Credit business value chain to understand their business needs and challenges

Analyzing and assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of organizational units, processes and tools and propose solutions (e.g., workflows, AI-enablement)

Managing the delivery of initiatives from conceptualization to implementation with a strong focus on process improvements and IT applications as an enabler

Analyse data and metrics to monitor the performance of implemented changes and ensure sustainable improvements

Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support on operational best practices within the Credit business
About the Team
This role is based in Madrid, and is part of a dynamic, driven and diverse team of professionals spread around the globe. We are combining transformational capabilities with an in-depth business, process and system knowledge to further enable the growth of the Credit and Surety business.

About You
You enjoy problem solving, are structured and detail oriented. You have a high tolerance of ambiguity and can systematically build up your own knowledge and expertise in a topic, capture facts and translate them into a clear and easy-to-understand story line. Your outstanding interpersonal skills allow you to engage with executives, while your welcoming and convincing personality helps you resolve issues and encourage others to move towards a common goal.
Essentials:

3+ years of relevant experience in projects focusing on process optimization, operational excellence, digitization and operating model design

Experience in the Credit line of business or a similar context, either in a business or operations role, and ideally with a focus on process improvement and operational excellence

Ability to quickly assimilate new knowledge, passionate about exploring new ways and continually seeking improvement opportunities

Strong communication, presentation and analytical skills to identify improvement opportunities and propose solutions

Comfortable working across different regions, cultures and time zones
Nice to haves:

Familiarity with the legal, regulatory and economic environment of the Credit line of business

Management Consulting experience

Formal project management, Lean and/or Six Sigma certification

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
For Spain the annual base salary range for this position is between EUR 42,000 and EUR 70,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements.
