About the Role

As Senior DevOps Engineer at iptiQ by SwissRE help drive technological advancements and contribute to our SaaS platform's ongoing development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enhance deployment and monitoring capabilities.

• Collaborate closely with the development and data engineering teams to ensure operational standards are met.

• Lead efforts in automating and streamlining operations and processes.

• Establish and improve monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks to detect and resolve issues promptly.

• Evaluate and adopt tools and technologies to improve the system infrastructure and build processes.

• Ensure system security, data integrity, and high availability of the platform.

• Advocate for, and implement, system improvements in areas such as container orchestration, service mesh, and observability.

• Document processes, systems and best practices for maintainability and knowledge transfer.

Our cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS platform operates on AWS, embodying a robust and scalable architecture. Here are the key technologies we use:

• Backend: Utilizing Kotlin, Java, and SpringBoot, orchestrated via Docker and Kubernetes. Real-time data streaming is managed through Apache Kafka.

• Database Management: We employ MongoDB and PostgreSQL for a balanced approach to NoSQL and relational data handling.

• Frontend: Our user interfaces are built with ReactJS and TypeScript, ensuring a responsive and intuitive user experience.

• Continuous Delivery: Our pipeline is streamlined with GitLab, facilitating a consistent and reliable delivery process.

• Monitoring and Logging: Employing a suite comprising Prometheus, ElasticSearch, Kibana, Grafana and AWS X-Ray for comprehensive system monitoring and log management.

• Data Lake: Built on AWS S3 and AWS Aurora, with AWS Lambda and DTB handling most data transformations, ensuring a well-structured and manageable data ecosystem.

• Reporting: Tableau serves as our primary tool for data visualization and reporting, aiding in data-driven decision-making.

• Data Mesh Initiative: We are in the preliminary stages of implementing a Data Mesh architecture to enhance data discoverability and decentralization.

• AI & Real-time Analytics Exploration: Initiating investigations into AI and real-time analytics to potentially enhance our platform's capabilities.

About You

You are an experienced and passionate DevOps professional with excellent problem-solving skills. Moreover you can describe yourself as a true team-player and a confident communicator who can engage with colleagues in person, in writing and online meetings.

Essential Skills:

• Strong experience with AWS, particularly in areas like AWS EKS, AWS RDS, AWS S3, and AWS MSK.

• Proficient in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, with a good grasp on GitLab or similar tools.

• Solid understanding of container orchestration, preferably with Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, ElasticSearch, Kibana, Grafana and AWS X-Ray.

• Demonstrated experience in automating, configuring, and optimizing the performance of large-scale systems.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience or interest in Data Mesh architectures.

• Knowledge of real-time data processing, particularly Apache Kafka.

• Familiarity with Terraform or TerraGrunt for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Exposure to AI and real-time analytics exploration is a plus.
