Senior Project Manager Officer

About the Role 

As a PMO in the Engineering Centre of Excellence (CoE) within Swiss Re's Group Digital & Technology Organisation (GDTO), you'll be at the heart of our large-scale transformation programme. Working closely with the Head of Engineering CoE, Programme Lead, and Workstream Leads, you'll ensure effective governance, delivery discipline, reporting accuracy, and comprehensive risk management across our multi-team initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Establish and manage the overall governance framework, ensuring programme and workstream processes follow best practices (PMP, Agile/Hybrid delivery models) 

  • Maintain programme RAIDD tracking (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies, Decisions) with timely updates, clear escalation paths, and ownership assignment 

  • Track programme milestones and critical paths, ensuring alignment across all workstreams 

  • Prepare high-quality weekly and monthly reports and executive summaries for senior leadership 

  • Facilitate programme events and meetings, ensuring actions are captured and closed 

  • Enable clear communication across Programme Lead, Workstream Leads, and Engineering CoE leadership 

  • Coordinate integrated planning across workstreams, aligning scope, timelines, resources, and dependencies 

  • Introduce modern PMO processes and tools to improve transparency and efficiency 

  • Drive consistency in ways of working and promote a culture of continuous improvement 

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and facilitate cross-workstream alignment

About You 

You're a detail-oriented project management professional who can bring structure to complexity and drive results through influence rather than authority. You excel at stakeholder management, have a knack for clear communication, and remain calm under pressure. Your ability to anticipate challenges and provide solutions makes you an invaluable partner to technical and business teams alike. 

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements: 

  • 5+ years of PMO, programme coordination, or project delivery experience within complex, multi-team environments 

  • Strong track record of establishing PMO structure in evolving or fast-moving programmes 

  • Deep understanding of programme governance, risk management, and dependency mapping 

  • Experience supporting technology and engineering transformation programmes 

  • Skilled in project management methodologies (PMP-aligned, Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid) 

These are additional nice to haves: 

  • Experience working with senior stakeholders, including Programme Leads, Engineering Directors, and cross-functional teams 

  • Strong analytical and reporting capability, including use of PMO tools 

  • Proficiency with Jira and Confluence 

  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive approach to work 

  • Ability to influence without authority and drive clarity in ambiguous situations 

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex messages for different audiences 

  • Calm, resilient, and solutions-focused attitude under pressure 

 

For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 60,000 and EUR 100,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers: ​

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,​
  • the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.​
