Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (Hybrid option)

 Join a team of cybersecurity professionals and help Swiss Re to fulfil its mission in making the world more resilient. As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer with strong technical expertise, you will identify critical user journeys, implement automated testing, and contribute to quality practices to ensure reliable and high-quality feature delivery. You will drive technical excellence and contribute to end-to-end solutions as a key member of our DevSecOps team. What's more, you'll be working in a hybrid setup, perfectly balancing work from home and the office premises. 

 

 

About the team 

 

The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for cybersecurity engineering and operations, governance, risk & compliance, group operational resilience, and corporate security. We define and advance the company's security strategy. As a part of the Security Team, the Customer Identity and Access Management team provides secure, reliable access to Swiss Re B2B applications for external users. We protect data, ensure compliance, and build trust with clients and partners.

In your role, you will… 

 

  • Contribute to service development by implementing test automation. 

  • Design and maintain test frameworks and test data for reliable, fast testing. 

  • Contribute to the quality strategy, ensuring clear requirements and standards before execution. 

  • Evangelize and support the development team in testing, automation, and DevOps best practices. 

 

 

Your qualifications 

 

  • What we need from you 

  • Passion, drive and belief in the value of quality assurance and innovation to make successful end-to-end solutions. 

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience. 

  • Experience defining test plans to identify critical user journeys for automation, and managing defects and high-impact releases without compromising quality. 

  • Experience designing, building, integrating and maintaining scalable automated testing frameworks. 

  • Experience testing across all layers (unit, component, integration, UI), with a strong focus on customer-facing scenarios while ensuring solid lower-level coverage through team practices. 

  • Exposure to UI testing frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) and Page Object Model pattern. 

  • Solid knowledge about API testing (REST). 

  • 2+ years of Java experience in testing frameworks and service code with RESTful-based applications knowledge. 

  • Good communication skills in spoken and written English. 

  • Experience with SDLC best practices and modern testing approaches. 

  • Collaborative and team oriented. Customer focused. 

  • Ability to teach, coach, and evangelize squad members on testing strategy, automation mindset and quality best practices. 

  • Drives high-level work generation by ensuring initiatives are well-defined, requirements are clear, and quality standards are met before execution. 

 

  • Nice-to-have 

  • Knowledge about authentication, authorization and role management mechanisms. 

  • Worked with Cloud environments (Azure DevOps is a plus). 

  • Experience implementing and validating non-functional requirements such as performance, reliability, and security across services and tools. 

  • Experience in testing integrations with external systems and migrations. 

  • AI exposure, state of the art. 

  • Experience collaborating with QA communities to define and promote quality standards across teams, improving quality and driving impact beyond their own team. 

  • iSTQB Certified Tester - Foundation Level certification or similar. 

 

 

For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 60,000 and EUR 100,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers: ​

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,​
  • the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.​

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.​
