About the Role

 

As a Senior Security Engineer, you'll build innovative solutions that strengthen our security posture while supporting vulnerability management, penetration testing, and purple team initiatives. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies in a multi-cloud environment to create robust security systems that protect our global operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance cyber defence by integrating vulnerability information from different sources and enriching it with contextual data
  • Designing, deploy and maintain security solutions in a modern, API-driven multi-cloud environment to strengthen enterprise-wide vulnerability detection and reporting capabilities
  • Deploy, configure and maintain vulnerabilities scanning tools in CI/CD pipelines
  • Support Security operations teams, IT and sensors owners on remediating vulnerabilities and meeting security standards
  • Collaborate with QA experts and Software developers to ensure integrated solutions and scanning tools meet security, reliability and availability requirements
  • Expand your expertise in information security, vulnerability management, and Identity & Access Management
  • Function effectively as part of an agile team (Scrum)

 

About the Team

The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for cybersecurity engineering and operations, governance, risk and compliance. We define and advance the company's security strategy. As a part of the Security Team, the  Security Engineering team owns and integrates applications and tools for vulnerability management, penetration testing, and Red Teaming.

 

About You

You're a passionate security professional who understands that effective vulnerability management is a critical enabler of business performance. You thrive in collaborative environments and can translate complex technical concepts into practical security solutions. Your technical expertise is complemented by excellent communication skills and a drive to continuously improve security operations.

 

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • Familiarity with vulnerability scoring methods, vulnerability management tools and processes
  • Proven experience managing Static Application Security Testing (SAST) tools such as Nexus IQ and SonarQube, and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) tools such as Invicti, and Software Composition Analysis (SCA) tools.
  • Fundamental knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and DevSecOps tools
  • Advanced knowledge of infrastructure
  • Knowledge of a major public cloud ecosystem (Microsoft Azure preferred)
  • Knowledge of Azure security tooling
  • Knowledge on microarchitecture design in Azure and other cloud providers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)

 

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies
  • Experience with agile development and DevOps
  • Experience building integrations to existing systems
  • Proficiency in RESTful based applications, cloud technologies, and containers

 

 

For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 60,000 and EUR 100,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role

• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.

Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.

 

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least 2-3 days per week.
