Senior Software Developer (Hybrid set up)

Join a team of cybersecurity professionals and help Swiss Re to fulfil its mission in making the world more resilient. As the Senior Software Developer, you'll be tasked with technical design and implementation in a challenging project, promoting good development practices and ensuring high-quality outcomes. What's more, you'll be working in a hybrid setup, perfectly balancing work from home and the office premises. 

 

 

About the team 

 

The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for cybersecurity engineering and operations, governance, risk and compliance. We define and advance the company's security strategy. As a part of the Security Team, the IAM Solutions squad provides a user-friendly experience for internal customers of Identity and Access Management services within Swiss Re. We're looking for a highly experienced software engineer to design and implement the elements of our application landscape. 

 

 

In your role, you will… 

 

  • Design and implement applications and components in our Identity and Access Management application landscape 
  • Ensure technical design is in line with architecture and meets quality requirements (e.g., performance, reliability, availability) 
  • Work with Quality Assurance experts to ensure solutions meet high expectations for reliability and availability 
  • Work with Product Owner to ensure the user experience meets our users' high expectations 
  • Contribute to technical documentation and DevOps support of the solution 
  • Mentor less experienced colleagues 
  • Be someone who believes in continuous innovation, is curious and relentless in finding a better way everyday   

 

 

Your qualifications 

 

What we need from you 

  • 6+ years of relevant work experience 
  • A track record of successful delivery in complex development projects using Java 
  • Proficiency in multi-tier, microservice, Spring, RESTful-based applications, cloud technologies, containers 
  • Experience meeting non-functional requirements such as reliability, availability, performance 
  • Good communication skills in spoken and written English 

 

Nice-to-have 

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or comparable knowledge 
  • Understanding of technologies related to information security and Identity & Access Management 
  • Experience with diverse IT technologies 
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, React, Angular, or other web UI technologies 
  • Experience with agile development and DevOps
